It doesn't even matter what tracks are on the CD, people would find something to complain about either way.
nothing new.

The tracklist is ok at best but why did Armin put Zack Morris on the cover this year?
i lol'd.
im glad to see toward the end of this thread people are saying at least a few good things after hearing it, despite the fact its not released yet, haha.
asot 2004 is a byproduct of my introduction to trance so i remain partial to defending at least the cd side of asot.
at the same time i have grown as an edm listener and i understand the complaints.
in that same boat, like 8wonders noted, ta people fucking complain all day, every day.
looking past that, i see some songs im familiar with and will enjoy to have on the cd.
many songs i am not familiar with, at least by artist/track.
those i look forward to listening to.

Oyyyy.... idk maybe he made ASOT 2006 too good, this doesn't compare anywhere near the same quality as last year's compilation. Too much aly & fila and tracks that have been around for a while now - sorry Armin.
Anjunabeats vol5! haha

Really like CD 1!! What ISOS should be like if you ask me... Lots of really nice chill vocals, stuff that is bordering with trance and yet more housey and proggy sounding... Really digging it to be honest, and perfect for those long drives and/or long summer nights/afternoons!
CD2 (still listening) does seem to have some rather abrupt mixing... And I'm not as much of a fan, but not sure yet, gonna listen a couple of more times before drawing a conclusion.. But CD1 makes this worthwhile on its own.. Really good stuff me thinks

I don’t listen to much trance these days and im not really an Armin fan, but I thought I'd check this out anyway. Gotta say, CD 1 is actually not that bad - I hadn't heard nearly all of of the tracks on it before (probably cos I don’t listen to asot) but it's a nice CD to relax to, with a summery feel and I really like the voice of that Adrina Thorpe lass who does the vocals in the DJ shah track.
Did a quick skim of CD2 and it reminded me why I don’t listen to trance much anymore - complete shit, just sounds like one, really long trance track and a shit one at that.

CD 1 is a bore IMO and CD2 is good. However it is overall pretty weak and lacks in comparison to ANJUNABEATS 5!

Armin is going down eh? This CD lack quality. Anjunabeats is doing far more better than Armada these days. Anjunabeats Vol.5 for me.

At this rate Above&Beyond might climb to top 5 spot this year, so Armin - defend your #2 spot! I heard he's coming out with a new artist album soon? I'm curious to see what Schulz does as well... his productions have been very strong lately too. How exciting.

from my position sitting on the fence, ive always viewed ASOT cds as being like the ministry annual cds. they always feature whats been played over and over again on ASOT obviously so you know what your gonna get when you buy it.
alot of the people who will buy it, wont be on TA 23hours a day and that clued up about music as most of us are so it will be a pretty good cd to them or to anyone who likes the tracks that they've heard out or on ASOT over the last few months this year.
compared to Anjuna v5, Above and Beyond have gone for a pretty upfront tracklist which is like the reason why i used to buy the first few gatecrasher albums. upfront music(albeit mostly anjuna influenced in V5's case) and 90% of it was great.
its a difference of taste and choice, i guess i take them as face value and know what im gonna get with either album and most others.
