Man... Where do I begin...
Couldnt sleep, so I decided to post...
I been anticipating this night for some time. The sea of people in the club was amazing, and it was good to see it packed! Over the course of 2007, Saturdays at 1015 have been truly on the up, with stiff competion at other clubs, everyone I encounter always says, "1015 is still my favorite place to be on Saturday nights." With recent renovations to the club, upgrades in sound and video, and the talent thats there. Saturdays are always something to look forward to at 1015.
Its an honor to be a resident of the club, and to have helped someways in building our Saturday nights at the club. Gaining my residency this year was only step one. Ive tracked the saturdays I have been to the club over the course of 2007, and have only missed 3 weekends. Even when Im not playing im there, Im usually just there chillin or running some video or Ads on the screens. Every Saturday is another chance to meet a couple hundred or so of cool ass people, expecially TA's. Saturdays at 1015 just frickin rock. Thank you to everyone who has supported me this year, you made my first year as a resident memorable in so many ways. Getting on that nitevibe Dj Dreamteam poll was really awsome too.
Last night was also a primetime example of the power of 1015 Residents. Vahid and Dirtyhertz IMO played a amazing opening set. Definitely had the crowd going from the get go, and got everyone in the mood for the arrival of Dj Dan. Decor of the club Mimic'd San Francisco, A trolly atop where the VIP seating is above the mainroom, along side other various props around the club with SF scenery. I got to MC again on the mic, counting down NYE with a horde of screaming people, and watched as thousands of ballons that fell from the celing vanish within 15 seconds. The first shot of Kryo billowing out of the walls during Dans first high peak of his set, at 12:25AM.
Around 1:15 I went upstairs to kick it with Ishmael, and enjoyed some choice PsyTrance. I've said it before and Ill say it again, Ishmael has always been a favorite Dj I have looked up to for many years. Witnessing him at past events like Orgy, and events at other clubs and venues, I have always seen his room packed. It was no suprise to see the room packed for him last night. Great set Ish.
John Beaver followed it up with some bangin Tracks. Definitely set me up to take off with Trance proper, ending with a remix of Paul Oakenfold's Souther Sun, and Fonzerelli - Moonlight Party.
Small Technical Difficulty during the transition from John to me, but was easily fixed since I was on the same channel as the CDJS were. I proceeded to play out at 3:05AM.
I got a couple of requests from several of you before this weekend, along side some emails and encounters with some of you who wanted to hear certain tracks. I hope I came through with them, I kinda left Andreiux and his buddy dry as I was suppost to come through with Aven - All I wanna do (Ferry Corsten Remix). Sorry guys, 4:30 rolled around and Taj told me to bring it down. Ill play it though during one of my next opening sets.
This is the second time I have been up against a headliner. The first time this year was when I was booked against Infected Mushroom. Both times though, I've been successful in keeping the room packed. I actually suprised myself when I looked out to the crowd and saw so many of you there, expecially TA's. I chose mostly tracks from Anjunabeats. (Always my favotite label.) Heres some of what I played... Not everything, and not in order. Pretty much covered hits on 2007, which is what I was aiming to do, with a FEW classics. My BPM range I started from was 137.0, and built it up to 141.0. bringing it back down the last 30 minutes for Koroma the last 45 minutes, going from 141.0, to 132.0, to 130.0...

Thanks to everyone for comin up or who stayed up there with me. It was a challenge playing against Christopher Lawrence. What was really cool is Chris actually made his way up to the our room during Ishmaels set, where we got to take some pics with him before he went down to play at 2:00. It was great to see him, as I havent since LF. I also hear his set was bangin.
On the way home, I looked in my rearview and saw Tommy. Rizo was passed out along side my homie Russ. Tommy couldnt stop talking about his damn nuggets. Chicken nuggets people. Tyson chicken nuggets and how he only had 8 of em, with no ketchup. I kinda wondered if Rizo even heard anything we were talkin about. The buzz from the music still ringin in our ears, and the sunrise to my left as we drove down 101.
A Big Thanks to TAJ for everything. I think we should all thank him as he has given us the best Saturdays in 07 and years before. 2008 is gonna be bangin no doubt. From playing in this years Lovefest on the float, to bookin me in front of some hot talent. Its been awsome.
A very Happy New Year to everyone. In 2008, you will definitely be seeing me. I hope to see you all again on saturdays at 1015 Folsom! Everyone I met this year seriously ROCKKS!!
