Hey now! I said I don't look down upon it...sheesh!!!
There's nothing wrong with doing it. Hell I've done it myself...I'm just saying in terms of using MySpace and it's bulletin board feature, it occurs SOOOO MUCH (as in, with tons and tons of events), that the point of the bulletin board is really lost.
It's like posting 20 threads a day on TA for it. Would you go to a board full of listings posted 20 times?
Or received 20 emails a day for the same event?
And it's not because one person is posting the event, it's because like FIFTY seem to be doing it bwaha...
In the end this is more about MySpace than the event posting, heh. Becuu
It's nothing to look down upon...more of a MySpace issue. No one can really argue against doing it because with so many events being posted in the same manner, you don't do it and your event can get lost, especially if you have a TON of friends. But, and I don't think anyoen can argue, after a few it's basically just SPAM. And that's why the MySpace bulletin board has lost its value. But all the promoters out there gotta do what you gotta to try to get noticed....just with MySpace, instead of people sitting there and complaining about how much it happens (across all events) we've just chosen to ignore the bulletin board. Really do wish MySpace would try to implement filters so it becomes a pain in the ass to post the same event over and over and really stop most people from doing it, so those who do continue to try can be reported and stopped.
My first post on it was just as a joke....second one was a bit serious, but it wasn't directed at an attack on this event being posted so much...if anyone takes it that way, I apologize and you can flick my ear as hard as you want on Friday (ok, not really). Just more of trying express how what was once a really cool feature on MySpace has been killed because of the vast majority of postings on are between few events that are duplicated a billion time.
As a bio of me was once written: I'm a [edited out] soldier with a loud mouth.
That's me. It can cause trouble sometims...but that's something I have to deal with.
