they are not 'ridiculous' if carried out properly.

having said that, I'm sure that many so-called national polls are flawed in their structure (and that's not merely due to having an inadequate sample size).

for this one, acc. to Gallup's site:

"The general-election results are based on combined data from Sept. 5-7, 2008. For results based on this sample of 2,733 registered voters, the maximum margin of sampling error is ±2 percentage points."

That's still insufficient, but better than providing no qualifiers.

But given the plus or minus 2% margin, given that 4% have 'no opinon', and 2% said 'neither' (which could mean they are actually undecided, won't vote, would vote for another candidate, if there is one, etc)...means that this so-called 5% "lead" is pretty sketchy

I still don't buy these polls in favour of the Republicans. Give it a week or two after the novelty of Palin has subsided. The debates will be good too.

How do you get millions of Christian Evangelicals to support the slaughter of innocent civilians in the Middle East?

Tell them you hate homosexuals and abortion!

AHAHAHAHA, cracks me up every time.

so i guess you missed the part of obama's speech where he hinted he will gladly shit all over iran the first chance he gets ... he thinks it's cool as long as the veterans will have their pensions promised to them in a few decades. not to mention he will continue to arm israel to the teeth regardless

Both parties are fully behind Isreal and AIPAC no matter what unfortunately, and right now Isreal looks at Iran as a "major" threat and it is just a matter of time before they take action.
Basically the future isnt looking too good for Iran no matter who wins this elecion, since either way the zionist regime will continue to push America to take millitary actions against Iran.

I don't think Obama can be blamed for affirming his support of Israel given the current US political climate. Like him, I support their right to exist, although they do a fair amount of shit disturbing along with the organsiations that oppose them. But I do believe that the muslim world needs to accept Israel before any real "peace" can be established and I think that's at least a few generations away.

I think we can all agree that it's not a good idea for Iran to have nuclear weapons, no? I also don't think the Americans will be able to get away with going in there. They blew their load with Iraq.

Oh and I love how McCain's camp has totally stolen Obama's message of change and dropped the "inexperience" criticisms of Obama as well. Now that so many sheep are starting to consider whether or not McCain can offer real change (Obama must make him FAIL in this BS attempt or else's screwed), thus affecting the polls in the Repulican's favour.

Now McCain's calling the Democrat camp sexist and had the gall to call Obama "inexperienced" again, even with the nobody Palin (who won't talk to the press AT ALL!) on the ticket.

If one thing can be gleaned, it's that Republicans know how to play dirty. It's too bad that so many people can't see through it down there.

I still have a feeling that a majority of Americans will realise that McCain is not the right kind of change, but Obama's camp need to recollect themselves and start hammering away about McBush and the issues again and not get distracted by this shitball smearing crap that goes on with the gutless Republican strategists.

Based on whats happening right now I highly doubt you ll have all the muslims accepting Isreal for what it is.It is complicated and untill Isreal doesn resolve the Palestinian issue they will continue to be hated by the muslim nations. They sure didnt help their cause by attacking Lebenon recently either.Anyways I dont want to turn this into another Israeli/Palestinian debate.

Two things. One There is no proof anywhere that Iran is making nuclear bombs and lets not fall for the false assumptions again.
Secondly even if they were going after nukes,I really wouldnt blame them based on whats is happening around Iran and not to mention the amount of threats from the US and Israel.

To me having nukes in Irans situations would be for self defence and preventing invasion/attacks by the US/Israel.

Bottom like if you want to get rid of nukes then you have to make sure everyone gets rid of them.Dont pick and choose.

but, at the same time, Israel is firmly entrenced with American support. They aren't going anywhere, but they do need to do more about resettling the Palestinians, I agree. But cutting Israel in half really won't solve much, will it? I don't know a solution, but I do know that there are fundamental factions on both sides that have too much power at the moment.

About Iran...I'm not sure I agree. Israel has had nukes for awhile but hasn't used them. Considering they have been attacked and invaded before, I understand their fears over the Iranian regime getting their hands on nuclear weapons. I wish we could get rid of nuclear weapons outright, but that's most likely not going to happen so I'm all for limiting the spread to other nations.

While I don't think Iran has the ability to make any nuclear weapons, I do think the government is a bit extreme, which is why the west keeps an eye on them. Now, invading them a la Iraq is an entirely separate issue. I can't see myself ever supporting that....unless they ever did fire a missile at Israel of course. Highly unlikely though.
