Stuart Geddes aka GEDDES, and also one third of the production trio Rekleiner (alongside Audiofly's Anthony Middleton and Luca Saporito), is the label boss of Murmur. With 8 full EP's already released, some of the talent that label boasts in both original tracks and remixes are Rekleiner, Daniel Stefanik, Reclick & Nick Curly, Bearweasel, Dubshape, Craig Torrance & Philip Hochstrate, SIS, Tom Demac, Glimpse, Nima Gorji, Einzelkind, Seuil and Geddes himself. Geddes will be performing a dj set for this night.

Also on the bill is a new favorite dj/producer of ours that is making waves with his music and is one of the main members of the french heavyweight label, Freak n'Chic alongside Dan Ghenacia. Dyed Soundorom's track 'Question' turned our heads immediately after hearing it and since then, he has been producing bomb after bomb tracks that leave you in awe. His DJ sets have been said to be nothing short of excellent. We are very excited to have him finally come and join us for our Blkmarket Membership night as well.

After a blistering performance for the first night of his Pacha NYC residency, Mark Knight returns on Friday, April 24th, 2009 for the first NO PANTS PARTY, with his trousers checked at the door. Inspired by the New York improv troup Improv Everywhere’s NO PANTS! SUBWAY RIDE, Pacha NYC is kicking off the worldwide NO PANTS DAY 2009 (May 1st – www.wehatepants.com). Pacha NYC will be taking their pants OFF to put the FUN back into clubbing. Mark’s vision and approach to his residency and his DJ sets, have an underlying desire to inject the fun band absurd back into clubbing. What better way to do that than with NO PANTS?!? Clubbers can expect this sort of antics all year long, kicking off in February with a dancefloor full of Groucho mustache sporting club heads. No telling what sort of surprises to expect with a Mark Knight DJ set, now more improved with NO PANTS!!!

Mark Knight has forged himself a reputation as one of the foremost house producers on the planet, shaping the scene with his Toolroom imprint. A string of consistently hot productions and skillfully written remixes, from Kylie through to Underworld, have secured ongoing success at the top of the dance charts. Production highlights of late 2008 would have to be Mark’s incredible remake of Laurent Garnier’s ‘Man With The Red Face’, officially Beatport’s fastest ever selling record. Never one to rest on his laurels Mark launched “Toolroom Knights” as a signature club night at the Amsterdam Dance Event and since then has gone on to host parties at key cities across the world with established residencies at Ministry of Sound (London), Redlight (Paris), Cocoon (Frankfurt), Sankey’s (Manchester). The “Toolroom Knights”, based around the label, and Mark’s distinctive sound introduced the underground sound of Toolroom to the clubbing masses with a superb DJ line up reflective of the label. In 2009, Toolroom Knights continue their conquest with North American residencies at Pacha NYC and Avalon (Los Angeles).

THE story of WMC wasn’t a single big track, or an epic DJ set, or your friends getting so wasted that they got lost downtown and had to walk home across the bridge. Nope, the thing that everyone was talking about was the smackdown between the newly minted hero of dance music, Steve Angello, and the mistress of vapid evil, Paris Hilton.

We’ll keep it short. LIV nightclub at the Fontainebleau. Angello tearing it up. Hilton arrives with her nameless reality show boyfriend. Asks Angello to play hip-hop. Angello says in half-Swedish/half-tequila: “Hell no.” Full-on brawl breaks out between Nameless Reality Douche, Angello’s manager, and finally, Angello!

Pacha NYC presents STEVE ANGELLO from the Swedish House Mafia for a special NO REQUESTS Friday night on April 17, 2009.

Steve Angello kicked off his career in 2004 when he released ‘Woz not Woz’ alongside fellow Swede, Eric Prydz. From there he rose to fame producing under several aliases, remixing tracks for the likes of Moby, Goldfrapp, Royksopp and Deep Dish, releasing a Subliminal Sessions CD and keeping up with a global DJing schedule as part of the Swedish House Mafia. His diverse sets keep the crowds electrified, and no matter how many times you see him play, you will rarely hear the same track twice! His ability to connect with the crowd is intense, and it is as if he reads your mind when you hear the bass drop of a track you have been waiting all night to hear. The music screams at you; passion; commitment; dedication; focus; drive; and energy: music is no idle pastime for Steve, it’s everything.

Now Angello presents the 30th release on his own respected house label, Size: First Dimension on Size Records. The album is a classic mix including some of the label’s biggest hits from the funky electro sounds of Who’s Who “Sexy F**k” through to cutting-edge techno vibes of Mescal Kid “Majic”. The mix also features collaborations with Sebastian Ingrosso and Laidback Luke among others. Now together with his cohorts in the Swedish House Mafia, along with Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso, the trio are slated to take over Pacha Ibiza this summer for a special Monday night weekly residency kicking off on June 22, 2009.

WIGHNOMY BROTHERS:

After headlining the MUTEK festival last year, there was much talk about bringing them over to the US, but no one could seem to make it happen. Founders of the acclaimed label Freude am Tanzen and Musik Krause labels distributed by Kompakt, Robag Wruhme and Monkey Mafia are finally coming to the US with Visas in hand. The two have been freinds since 1989, suposedly meeting in a breakdance circle, but have been Wighnomy Brothers since 1997. Wruhme and Maffia cut their DJ skills at the Thüringer Club, and they are currently residents at Club Kassablanca, both in Jena, where they reside. The Wighnomy Brothers’ music is self-described as “raving with reason”: sometimes cheerful and sometimes dark, together or solo the pair make minimal techno that punts straight for the dancefloor. The eclectic pair have definately made a name for themselves as amazing DJs playing extended sets, while showing the crowd jsut how much fun they are having behind the decks. As owners of a record store as well, these guys really have the full spectrum covered, as they are truely in it for the music.

INNERVISIONS LIVE:

Few people in dance music remind you why you got into the business in the first place. Any interaction with the Innervisions crew will do just that, remind you about that love of music. Innervisions live is made of up both members of AME (Frank and Kristian), Dixon, and Henrik Schwartz. The live show is a combination of Henrick on the computer and keyboards, dixon playing loops over the CDJ's, and a meadly of keyboards and Ableton mastery from the AME boys, all going at once. This is a true four piece deep house music "band" that is not to be missed, if you are even lucky enough to experiance it in your city. Playing only select dates around Europe after headlining the Amsterdam Dance Event last season, Innervisions Live: A Critical Mass will be making two select stops in NY and Detroit for the DEMF. The 3 acts alone have been some of the most indemand DJ's and Live performers, but to have all 3 on one stage is nothing short of magic.

Once a year there comes a time to celebrate getting older, and what better way than to throw a party to set the standard for the rest of the year. As BLK|Market and Uddermadness celebrate their 3rd birthdays together, they bring two of the biggest acts in dance music to the same show. We are ecstatic to bring you a new monthly Thursday party.

"A Beat Grows in Brooklyn" will be taking place at Hope Lounge in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. Besides showcasing the talents of established and upcoming EDM DJs in the NYC area, we are also hoping to capitalize on the spring and summer weather by offering you a venue with both indoor and outdoor spaces. So whether you wish to enjoy drinks and food inside or under the stars, we have found the perfect setting for you to come and support your locals. Our kick-off party promises to be a doozy featuring music by local favorites Leks the Imposter, Dj MSG, Down Deep as well as En’rike who has had quite a few appearances at Toast.


Come out and help us welcome spring! Drink specials will be available from 9pm-10pm.

Directions to Hope Lounge:

Hope Lounge is located at 10 Hope Street in the Williamsburg section of Brooklyn, New York, between Roebling and Havemeyer Streets, about 6 blocks from the L Subway station at Bedford/Driggs and N. 7th Street, and about 8 blocks from the JMZ subway station at Marcy and Broadway, a few blocks away from the Brooklyn side of the Williamsburg Bridge.

More particular directions from nearby locations and a local map are set forth below.

From the L Train

Take L train to the Bedford Avenue Station at Bedford/Driggs and N.7th Street. Exit the station on Driggs Avenue. Walk south for 4 blocks toward Metropolitan Avenue. Turn left on Metropolitan, and make first right on Roebling Street. Hope Lounge is located 100 feet from the SE corner of Roebling and Hope Street.

From J, M, or Z Trains

Take J, M, or Z line to the Marcy Avenue station and exit train at Marcy Avenue and Broadway. Walk one block west to Havemeyer Street, and turn right on Havemeyer. Walk north on Havemeyer street for seven (7) blocks to Hope Street. Make a left on Hope. Hope Lounge is located near the end of the block, on the left.
