Sam Adams makes a strong beer that i like a lot..i can't remember the name though, it is a rare drink around here.

Sam Adams should be better by all means, because it is not as big of a brewery as Molson in the sense that Molson is to Canada what Bud is to the US (but better)

Oktoberfest is on my list of things to do before I die. Actually, we should all go the same year.

We can drink and rave to Paul van Dyk.

See, hearing shit like that pisses me off. We have some decent small (micro?) breweries here, but they never seem to release seasonal brews, or one-off special brews like heaps of the overseas breweries seem to. If they do, I rarely see them on the shelf anywhere.

I guess it's because we have a small population here - less possibility for a specialised market like that.

To the thread, Bas?

Sounds like it Stu...sounds like it. To the thread I go.

I think it's fair to say that American microbrews will shit on lots of other beers. We just have so many goddamn good ones.

every country has good micro brews...you just don't get to taste them (and vice versa to us). micro brewing is the in thing everywhere...

there is a micro brew here that has shit reviews online but i love it. It is called lapino...and has a jalapeno in the bottle...i'm black like that i like hot sauce on everything and love it.

most people tend to class beer by prestige...because the depth in flavour is nowhere near wine or scotch/whiskey in terms of different possibilities in flavour..

hops, barley, gypsy tears.

I had a Temple Brau in the centre of London, in I believe The Temple Bar or Temple Brau or something similar. They brew it there.
It was fucking awesome, though I was thirsty at the time.

It's easy to be thirsty in London. That foul air really draws the moisture out of you, and it's hard to replenish despite the constant raining.

Indeed Radler is quite popular, mostly in Bavaria. It sometimes goes by other names, like Russ (Russian) or my favorite: Ententeich (duck pond). A common use is when you have some kind of formal or business dinner in a beer garden, then people often order Radler since they don't want to get too drunk but still drink a beer where you're supossed to drink one. Of course when you go to Oktoberfest and buy a Radler people will instantly know you're a gay sissy.
While it doesn't taste that bad I agree that beer should be served as beer and not be watered down by some other shit.
