50% of the score is turns, 25% air and 25% time. It was clear that Bilodeau was better in the turns. The air component probably went to the Aussie...um I mean Canadian participating for Australia and I believe Bilodeau was slightly faster.

Bullshit IMO

wow, what a sore loser that dude is..I'm sorry but he looked like a spoiled brat pretty much the whole time. He was sulking like a little kid after the race and not as much at the medals ceremony.

I guess that's what happens when you jump ship..

yup, 25% for each factor (I cant remember exactly how they phrase them, but they go something like:

time down the hill/speed, difficulty in jumps, the amount of air you get, and the other is technique ie: keeping knees together, staying in a straight line, etc...)

I dont know if they have a degree of difficulty for turns and jumps, but they should, such that there IS no argument!

To be fair to him....the Canadian Team said he couldn't have his internet business if he was on the Canadian Team and that's why he left...and also made millions with the business.

But this does go to show that the Olympics...for some...isn't about representing your country....its just about them and participating in the Olympics. There are way to many athletes who end up participating for another country...some of them have never even been to the country....like half the Japan Hockey team in Nagano....they were canadian

does anyone know why the medal ceremonies don't take place immediately upon completion of the event and are instead held later in the evening at BC Place?

I believe they are trying to make the ceremonies more of an event. They have concerts and other things going on there. They have given away thousands of free tickets to the ceremonies and the price of tickets are less than $30.00.

at least Donovan Bailey lives/lived in Canada. Some of these people have never been to the country they represent.

Don't you have to be a citizen? There was a japanese ice skater that was dancing for russia in the pairs and they said she had to give up her japanese citizenship, become a russian citizen and changed the spelling of her last name.

I know, that really pissed me off. I mean, there's nothing else you can do...if you lost, well, you lost, so go and congratulate the winner.
I liked the attitude from the american, he was really happy, as if he had won the gold medal maybe?

I'm not positive but I believe the requirements to represent a country vary with each country. Some countries you have to be a citizen and others you just have to have a passport or have family lines in that country.
