No offense meant by this but put yourself in their shoes. If you had countless relatives die from bombs/snipers, had to raise your kids in a ghetto with no sign of hope, had to pray that your life isn't lost everytime you step out the door or goto bed and much much more, how would you feel when the country causing this situation gets attacked? Cause to be honest with you if I were them I'd be celebrating too...

Actually, you dont see a lot of Americans jumping on cars, waving flags when a bomb goes off in Gaza, so I dont really see your point. As an American, I actually am quite concerned about the situation there and dont celebrate the life lost of the people there......EVER. Nor WILL I ever. As do almost every other person I have ever conversed with. Most are genuinely concerned, but cant do much about it.

Again, separation of citizen and government/enemy: I would understand a bit more if the people in Gaza celebrated the death of an HBIC like George Bush, but I have no respect for people cheering the deaths of innocents who have nothing to do with what is going on there. I am pretty sure the guy who jumped off the second WTC tower to his death to avoid the inferno, did not make the call on making Palestine a Jewish state......nah, wasnt him. He was simply going to work to put food in his kids mouths. And now those kids do not have a father.....but you are right, he totally cause the entire problem in gaza and deserved his horrific death!!

The innocent people in Isreal/Palestine and the innocent people in New York and everywhere else all have something in common: they have had to pay miserably for choices made by the shot-callers. They died or have suffered.........but should not have! None of their deaths ought to be celebrated. NONE!!!

Until people around the world begin to digest the SIMPLE concept of separating the people calling the shots, and the people who are simply trying to lives their lives in peace, this world will always have unnecessary and built up frustrations directed at the WRONG people, which just leads to more hate and chaos.

Absolutely agree with your points on seperating the government from it's people and in no way am I saying you as an American citizen are cool with what's happened in Gaza. But I highly doubt the kid there living with the constant fear of death, a deceased dad and sister, war torn house, and rice for dinner every night gives a crap about seperation. To them an American corporation, citizen, or guvernment is all the same entity and they have no reason to think otherwise.

My point is that you really need to put yourself in their shoes to understand why they would cheer. If you truly do that, then you'll see why the people of Gaza and many others around the world are happy when misfortune comes to the States.

This is exactly what you all need to understand.

You can not, and will never, understand what's going on there. It's not your fault, it's just how it is. While you panick every day you see the gas price going up and your dollar going down, they panick seeing their house getting exploded and tanks ravaging their town. Let's just say it's a different level of stress.

Living in constant fear AND hate fucks your mind. It's pretty simple to associate Israel and USA together, when we all know who's funding who. I don't expect you to understand, because you never lived, day by day, in that situation.

I'm not for anyone's side. I'm not from Israel nor Palestine...I just lived the horrible consequences of all this hate. For what? I still don't know. And this hate will never end, believe it or not.

Unfortunately, terrorists can turn one positive aspect of democracies around and use it as a weapon against us: our influence through the ballot box makes us more accountable (we get the government that we deserve) and renders the civilian population less innocent, as ordinary people can be said to have more control over the behaviour of national govenments. However, even if we lived in a dictatorship, the terrorists could still argue that the civilians can be blamed to the degree that they did not try hard enough to ovethrow the dictator and change the foreign plicy of the country. I'm afraid it's probably these kind of warped rationalisations and justiifcations that terrorists use to brainwash impressionable minds. On a philosophical level, the terrorists are right, in that no-one is truly 100% innocent; however, they are wrong in saying that the degree of lost innocence/increase in responsibility is sufficient to warrant the killing of civilians.

nope, you get the government that you choose. every single pm or president is chosen by majority of votes meaning, at least 51% agrees with him/her/them.

Why does the dog wag its tail?
Because the dog is smarter than the tail.
If the tail were smarter, it would wag the dog.

Agrees? That is far too simplistic. Each politician has about 2000000 topics and issues to present, no one will ever completely agree with everything a politician brings to the table. Hell, sometimes, we have to pick from the lesser of two evils (or three....). If we are speaking about the US, it also kinda sucks that if I were to ever want to choose a Republican, my electoral college vote wont get me very far, as New York is always in the Blue.

Thanks Capo

For the rest: I really do try to see the others point of view as much as possible. I try to see what I NEED to see, as opposed what I WANT to see.

Unfortunately, it doesnt always go both ways.

I understand that the psychology makeup of a human, has a person losing much rationale and reason upon major stress, chaos, and suffering. That part I understand, but unfortunately this is one of the major reasons why there will surely always be hate in this world. We cant keep out emotions in check under majorly stressful situations. Its just how people are built.

Misdirected blame and hate will lead to more innocent deaths and thus, the cycle of hate will forever continue. I dont like it, but its just the way it is. As such, due to others feeling the weight of their suffering, someone like myself could possibly be the victim of an attack in which they seek their revenge. Interesting thought, eh? A small child in Afghanistan could be the target on the reverse end....its all bullshit that shouldnt happen.

As horrified as I was, during the attacks: personally knowing someone in the towers that day, as he was probably taking his last breath and I watched the scene like a motherfucking movie; seeing my city crash to rubble while more reports of attacks flickered across my TV screen; wondering how many more were coming; I cried my tears, but I did not feel hate or seek revenge against anyone but the culprits. I will NOT take out my anger on innocent people or children who are living there lives in peace. I believe its too much to ask that everyone thinks this way, however, I will not allow myself to become an individual who gets caught in the cycle of misguided anger. Its the LEAST I could do: try to be a rational human being in a world full of overly-emotional, overly-stimulated, and overly-stressed people.

Sorry for sounding dramatic, but it is what it is.....

After it coming up in discussions since the media announced it, I'm really surprised at the amount of people that don't believe this actually happened. From the people I've discussed it with I think probly only 30% or so actually believe the event occurred as publicized. Most seem to either think:
-Facts don't add up
-Not enough proof (specially when compared to Saddam)
-Too "fairytale" and convenient timing for US administration and Obama
-Just don't believe things to come from American media in general
