do you think it was Armin or more of a transportation situation? Getting out of EZ last year was a BITCH. I ended up paying $80 for cab to downtown and ****** had the balls to pick up 2 more people to ride along with us, whom he also charged $50 when we arrived, whereas I thought we'd split the fare.
I thought Armin's set was MUCH better than expected and definitely more memorable than last year's. The "Beautiful things" mash up was FANTASTIC!!! And G&D set was bloody good too.
Sidebar: I really wanted to go and I was really hoping to catch Carl Cox and Hawtin, along with Markus but my usual party pals were too busy with life, work, too broke to go, coaching soccer tournaments, etc. and I didn't feel like going by myself, on top of other reservations I outlined earlier.
I nearly bit the bullet 2 days before the event and bought the tix but looking at the schedule, I realized that acts I wanted to see were overlapping with others, forcing to choose and I didn't want to see much of anyone else, so I didn't feel it was worth it. I guess if you got tons of friends that are with you, it probably would have been fun(er), even with shitty acts.
Hope they bring more trance acts/live acts next year and some less predictable headliners too. I'd love to see at next EZ:
Roger Shah
Menno De Jong
Airbase
Carl Cox (main stage/closer)
Sasha
Faithless
J00F
Lindstrom (again, please!)
Michael Cassette
and fuck, while I'm wishing.. .why the hell not:
JEAN MICHEL JARRE!!!!

Actually, I have to say, that the transpo was on point this year! I left at the end two of the days, and an hour early one day: never had to wait in line for the bus! I was really, really impressed with this aspect and have to thank Made for that. The shuttle + MTA buses took everyone out twice as fast as previous years, it was awesome. Not sure about the Ferry.
And of course, friends ALWAYS make the party I certainly wouldnt have had as much fun with out all of them so I understand that you didnt want to come without them It would certainly still be fun, but not the same.
Yes, Armin really WAS better than last year. No doubt about that. Much more upbeat. I think the crowd was exhausted, half of them left, the vibe wasnt as fierce, and he wasnt playing anything mindblowing for 30minutes, so at that point, we just needed something to keep us moving, thus we didnt keel over from 3 days of non-stop dancing. I'm sure he picked it up as he usually does, but I just wasnt around to see it
