Eugene, please expand on your post, convince me Germany Rules

Well, let's define what we're talking about here.
If we're talking about "Trance" per se, then I think there is no question that Germany rules, given the amount and quality of vinyl produced there on a daily basis. BTW, a lot of this music is never discussed here; it's overshadowed by the more overhyped productions by the likes of M.I.K.E. and Armin. Have you heard Martin Eyrer's productions/remixes? How about Talla 2XLC, his productions and mixes? If you want me to give you a complete list of what I consider quality German trance, then I will come up with one, and I'm sure it'll be much bigger than the English or Dutch equivalents!
But I want to say that I agree with Vesa. Have you read his post, on Page 9? A lot of our pre-conceptions about Trance are false. Read his post -- it's the best in this whole thread.

Re: The U.K. ownz the whole trance community
TranceSeeker, your very first post was so bad that I'll analyze it line by line...
They spin Progressive House, not Trance. They hate Trance and even avoid this word at all costs.
Oakenfold had a very limited Trance period, only around 98/99 -- and even when he released "Tranceport," everybody trashed him for "selling out." He has devoted a lot more of his career to House.

And they spin quality trance, not the cheesy shit like Ferry, Armin, Gielen etc.....pump out of their turntables
|
Rarely do I find such stupid stereotypes posted. But this is undisputably one of them.
FIRST: Ferry, Armin, Tiesto do NOT spin Uplifting Trance (which I presume you mean when you say "cheesy shit"); listen to one of their sets, and then post. They've all switched a long time ago
SECOND: Uplifting Trance is NOT "cheesy shit," and I will NOT have you diss my and other people's favorite genre! No, we're not less intelligent than you, trust me -- we prefer good melodies in our music, we like to have a good time, and we enjoy good music and good life! Therefore, stop this arrogant attitude NOW!
THIRD: You're a fan of M.I.K.E. What about his tunes like "Please Save Me" and "Strange World"? Are they "cheesy shit" too?

Wot do they spin then?
Coz armin and ferry still spin uplifting and epic trance. Ferry even plays a bit of hard trance.
We could have a discussion about sub genres all day.
I have seen armin, ferry and tiesto spin live many times, so i know wot im talking about
But i would say armin spins mainly uplifting trance, ferry more epic trance and tiesto, well atm not really sure, he goes from prog trance to techno to uplifting, to all over the place.
