It saddens me greatly that it is now 2003 and shit like this is still happening.

Why is it that countries are singled out to disarm their weapons, yet other countries are allowed to expand and build their armies to astronomic proportions?

The ENTIRE world needs to disarm, this is so fucking pathetic, the entire human race is pathetic. When will we learn that this won't solve anything in the long run, this is bound to only cause more conflict.

This war will only be successful in creating tension between nations, it has already started.......I hope to GOD this ends soon, and that no more conflict results.

it's astonishing that people can't be more realistic...

I already excplained why some countries (especially ones with former hitmen as heads of state) need to disarm, while others can't afford that LUXURY...yes it is a luxury not to think about war happening in your country.

and you actually think the whole world will disarm, every1 in the world has a "little bit a thug in them" other people have a lot...there will always be thugs

Ray_Finkle...

people like u are oversaturated with ur own thoughts that u refuse to think otherwise even for a minute.

all of u who support the war are judgging based only on articles and things youll have heard and/or seen on the TV.. while us who are against it are actually reading between the lines and going deep into the news we read/hear....

OPEN YOUR MIND

hahahahaha...the 80s were filled with war and chemical weapons use...in what world is that normal

abortion, whether you like it or not is, among others, a religious issue, one that very few conservatives compromise on

wow, thats just wrong, lets digress to gassing anarchists...maybe thats not genocide to you? maybe the holocaust didn't exist?

a murderer is being defended for opposing a deceitful rich guy...maybe people should start filing wrongful death suits against Ted Bundy's execution order, just because one of his victims was a typical american republican.

I'm not on any fence, I fully support the violent overthrow of Saddam's regime. Diplomacy DID fail. I wish it were different, but it isn't. Saddam had three decades to show what he could do with a country satiated with natural wealth, he brought wars, illeagal weapons, and global infamy. I grant that running a nation is not an easy task, but honestly, Iraq should be better off than it is now.

I just wish Hitler's SS was hit with thousands of precision weapons in 1938.

Tough to take a stand on this because Sadaam is a tyrnanical dictator whereas George Bush is a trigger happy (or should i say Bomb happy) american president.

Some part of me doesn't want the American's to win because i don't believe they should be there in the first place (who died and made the US the worlds police ???).

I feel for the innoccent people of Iraq who have been forced to become untangled in this terrible event which has once again proved, that economics and world politics takes precedence over the price of human lives...

A point which has not been made on here: Iraq, from a self-defense point of view, is being targeted not solely because of the weapons of mass distruction they DO have, but because of the weapons they aspire to create and/or buy. I think what scares people is the fact that Saddam could in the future acquire a nuclear weapon. I know that in this case, diplomacy could be administered while Saddam was actively surveillanced, but then again, there are other reasons the Bush administration claims. And the fact of the matter is that if Saddam had even 1 chemical weapon (not to mention nuclear) and one cruise missile...there is always a chance a lot of people in Tel-Aviv might be gagging in the streets one day...I don't think the same holds true for a US owned weapon and say, Cairo, or even Baghdad. Some people cannot be entrusted with a weapon of such potential devastation, Saddam is one of them...someone find me a reason why Saddam needs his precious illeagal warheads...please

if he was so conserned with defensive measures, why spend money on mass destruction?? build up anti-missile technology...build impenetrable positions...build better and more tanks.

You have isolated a massive gap in global relations, one that will not be filled for many years.

There is no, nor has there ever been a "world's police." I will laugh if you reply telling me to consider the UN or Interpol. All there is, is history. A buildup of two superpowers, ending with the demise of one, and the unknown fate of the other. America takes the term "self-defense" very broadly, but shouldn't it? Look at how broad she is stretched. The demise of the US, if Democracy as a governing body fails in the future, will come from within iteself and not from any immediate outside force, the Pentagon insures that to all Americans. To ensure this safety, there are people who America must disarm...we don't know who will be next (maybe Iran, maybe not), but I assure you, there is a list, and until every name on that list, whether by diplomatic or violent measure, has a line through it, today's emipire will not rest.

I agree with rest of what you said...but remember that not all people in Iraq are innocent.

no that's not what I'm saying at all...and have never said that.

I think you are looking at the obvious countries (although I don't think Russia, Pakistan, China, or India should be considered at all right now)...there are other nations that the US has interests in.
Columbia, SE Asia!!!, etc...it's a long list I would think, one that has been rearranged since 9/11.
