My only gripe with Dear is as a DJ. As a producer and an all around performer he's solid as fuck. Great great music and a great show (Audion and Big Hands). He just can't beatmatch to save his life

I wish I would have cought him when he played at PS1 last year to see what this fuss happening here now is all about. I've always thought he was a brilliant producer ever since I got into techno two years ago. Not to mention that Fex is one of my top tech bangers of all time.
His tag sets with Ryan Elliot are awesome, mostly because he's just playing Ryan's stuff...but honestly as a stand alone DJ Matt Dear is meh. He really can't mix that well at all. If you want to see him, try to catch him live...he's sick.

I heard Big Hands sucks too.
Him as Audion is definitely a completely different fuking dj.
He also played up the whole "made in detroit" stage. it was some freaky ass shit he was playing.

Yeah I will at electric zoo, but I would love to see him spin. He probably has amazing taste in music. I would think it to be like Holden or something, really different, which I love. I don't mind the technical side of things as much. Maybe I'll just dig for one of his sets online.

At Sunday School, his set was insane.. Really changed what I thought about his sound.. Then after catching him with Elliott twice and then the Audion closing set I am thoroughly convinced the man is a genius, but every genius has the off days...
