Rogers 4G LTE network update, launch in Vancouver by 2010
Good news for you Rogers subscribers out there as well as Canadians in general. The latest details from a Rogers conference have revealed some very positive news about Rogers’ proposed 4G network.
Here are some key points concerning their 4G network that will surely bring a smile to those who have been waiting for this next-generation data network to finally become available:
◦Current download tests speed have reached 50 Mbps without any optimization involved
◦Speeds at launch are expected to peak at 70 Mbps
◦Rogers LTE network initially be available in Vancouver and the surrounding area, in time for the February 2010 Olympics
◦It will eventually expand to regions outside of the Vancouver area during Q2 of 2010
◦The service will launch with a USB modem stick. No 4G-enabled handsets will be offered during the launch date.
◦Rogers will offer 4G phones by the end of Q2 as it extends its 4G network coverage outside Vancouver
◦Rogers is taking the necessary measures to ensure that their 4G launch will go much smoother than their 3G launch
◦Best of all, their 4G network is currently ahead of its development schedule
Unless something goes haywire between now and February of next year, it looks like 4G networks will most certainly become available to Canadians in 2010. Aside from Rogers, Bell and Telus have both already made an announcement that they plan to launch their LTE networks in the same year as well.
Now that we more or less know when to expect 4G to arrive, the question now is; when will mobile phone manufacturers start making 4G capable handsets available?
Translation: Fuck the white ppl, this how we roll NIGGA!

Rogers Wireless begins 21Mbps HSPA+ rollout, a first in North America
It may not have beaten the likes of Australia's Telstra to the 21Mbps mark, but Rogers Wireless has still earned some pretty impressive bragging rights as the first carrier in North America to move on up to HSPA+, which (theoretically) more than doubles the maximum speeds of the current 7.2 Mbps network. According to Rogers, it'll begin to "progressively increase" download speeds starting in August, with the Greater Toronto Area expectedly first on deck to get a taste of all that bandwidth -- although Rogers does say that it'll "expand quickly over the coming months" in other cities across Canada and eventually cover the entire country. Those south of the border shouldn''t feel too glum about the situation however, as last we had heard, AT&T was "likely" to bypass HSPA+ altogether and move straight from 7.2Mbps to LTE and the ludicrous speeds it promises.
UPDATED: Bell to launch the Palm Pre on August 27th?
The last time we heard anything having to do with a release time frame for Bell’s Palm Pre, early August appeared to be the target — pending adequate levels of inventory of course. With sales of the Pre having peaked long ago south of the border, it looked as if Canadians could indeed be looking at an imminent launch. But then along comes big box electronic retailer Future Shop to spoil the hopes and dreams of many by posting up a pre-order teaser site for the Pre which lists August 27th as the release date. There’s no way to say for sure whether or not this date is just for Future Shop or all Bell dealerships and retailers, but something tells us it’ll be a few weeks yet until Canadians get their first taste of webOS.
UPDATE: And now it’s official. The Palm Pre will launch on August 27th for $199.95 on a 3-year contract or $599.95 off contract “with a minimum 500 MB data plan.”

Here’s a little story I would like to share with everyone with a close family friend and their battle with Telus.
Recently her contract finished with Telus and one would assume everything still continues the same with her price plan and etc. Behold, Telus changes her price plan to some crazy expensive plan that cost about $200 a month without her consent and now claims her contract is not done until next year. Even though she still kept the original yellow copy of her written contract when she activated it.
It seems Telus is “ok” during your contract time period, but you go through hell with them when you’re stopping your service within or when your contract ends. Some customers had a price tag of $700 for their ETFs.

Nope, even if your contracted ended ... they can NOT change you plans w/o your promission. It's totally wrong what happened to my fmaily friend w/ Telus.
