Do you really think I cruise around the Internet reading everything you write, and picking up cute quotes all over the place? Geez, you have a high self-esteem dont'cha? .

Anyways, I'm also into shy guys and I have made the first move with my bf pretty blatently. From first words to first kiss. He did have to finally ask me out but pretty much all the dates before that were initiated by me. I would have to make sure to be where he is all the time and join him and such other methods. And it still took him 5 months to realize I liked him. What a silly goof.

Not that that has anything to do with the topic, but anyway...

this can give you a hint. pick them up while they are still in the sad developing stage and watch them grow into beauties like Erika.

One of my closest friends (a female, yes) has had quite a turbulent childhood, and pretty much all the way through uni with bad relationships and everything, but after all of that, she turned out to be one of the coolest people I've met, so just to back up that argument

It does follow logically that what you're saying would work, but I can say without hesitation that it's a bad idea. And I do realize that it was probably a joke, but just in case anybody decides to take it seriously...

Picking them up while they're in that "innocent" stage essentially kills the whole development process. It may sound stupid, but I think it ruins people being in serious relationships when they're too young to take them on responsibly. They don't have enough time to develop their own self-esteem and instead become dependent on attention from others. Instead of learning from their mistakes, they repeat them over and over again - whereas people who never had relationships (at least, not really heavy ones) at that age, never make those mistakes in the first place.

Strange but true, and yes I am speaking from experience here...

LOL I am EXACTLY like that. I had this girl who I knew at school once (would have out at pub nights sometimes, would see her at York all the time) come up to me during the first time I saw PvD and go "Chris do you think I'm beautiful?". I said "Yeah of course!" and did NOTHING beyond that! Go figure...I mean you'd think I'd realize if a girl was interested by saying something like that (and it wasn't in a way that was that she was asking as a friend, I realize that now (2 years late). Ah well. Shit happens.

Geesh... I've ignored visual cues, but that's about as obvious as they get! You could've at least followed up your answer with a "wanna dance?" type comment.

Hope you've gotten a little more observant!

Yes, good idea. That almost certainly would have elicited a definitive "what the hell are you talking about!?"
