I'm not criticising science at all, I was only trying to show that the understanding of reality had to be adapted to new discoveries in science over time.

Oh, okay. Well in that case I hope I've explained it reasonably adequately - otherwise I think you'd have to look at a physics textbook.

About the experiment:

It looks like this:

That is the very same dual-slit experiment I was talking about with the diffraction patterns. P1' and P2' are the squares of the same wavefunction you would theoretically get in the bounded-box problem, and P12' is simply their sum.

If you fired only one electron, you have no way of knowing where it would end up on the projection. But when you fire billions of them, they form that diffraction pattern, which is exactly what statistics would predict from a probability distribution function.

I don't blame anyone for not completely understanding the principles behind this - there are generally several pages devoted to this in quantum physics books. I'm just trying to explain how these theories are known and testable and don't really bear any significant resemblance to theological ones.

Interesting link with the soccer ball, I never saw that before. I'm not entirely sure I understand what their basis is for that model of the universe, and I'm not convinced that it's become mainstream theory, but... I'll have to read some more on it when there's time.

Again, freewill. It's what you choose. The only way to heaven is to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior into your heart.
I do know some religious folk believe that good deeds get you into heaven..but, there's a verse in the Bible that says there's only one way,and that way is accepting Jesus into your heart.
People can be very good, and do very good deeds, but that doesn't mean that they're permitted into heaven. I hope you get what I'm saying.

Will you either tell us what exactly is the source of your certainty, or will you just kindly shut up about it? Saying "I know it but I won't tell you how I know it" is really retarded.

If you want to know the reasons, you can private message me. Otherwise, I'm not about to post them right out here out in the open. Some people here are far to immature to understand the real reasons. Bare in mind, I'm still picky and choosey about who I tell even if they do PM me.

I'm not sure I'm understanding why God needs the money? I mean, it's not like he's going to go to Wal-mart on a shopping spree. It seems as though this money is paying for the preist and the pillar boys to have new outfits to work in and for pointless crap around the church that isn't really needed. Do they really need a statue of every person in their religious "history"?

You totally don't get what I'm saying. It's not that God needs money. It's just a sign that you love God enough that you're willing to give up your money, it's also showing that money has no control over you.. Don't you understand?

But why? It's effectively a free licence to kill, murder and pillage on earth, but if you pray to Jebus, then it's all ok! Who cares about the crimes you committed, right?

Translation: I don't have any evidence whatsoever to back up what I'm saying, so I'll just dodge the question (yet again) by refusing to answer. Nobody else has an issue with backing up their arguments with evidence or examples, why it it such a problem for you to do the same?

But hey, who needs evidence after all. Evidence never got anyone anywhere!

Well, this doesn't really say that you should give 10% to the poor, but it rather says that you should give that amount to the temple. So that those lazy asses in the temples and churches can do nothing but pray whole days and live off the hard work of the people.

So that still doesn't explain why horrible things happen to people who are both good and have accepted Jesus in their hearts.

Yeah as I said, I'll read it in german, the language barrier makes you explanations a little complicated

No,you're wrong. I'm not stupid, and I'm not about to post something that's deeply personal to me for everyone to read. You wouldn't either. If you want to know why, then PM me, until then you won't know.

Let me see if I can explain. The world we live in is sinful, thus we still have to deal with bad things happening. Unfortunatly, that's life.

Also, God will allow certain things to happen to teach us things, or to help us build character. It's a test, you could say.
Also, some things are inflicted on us by Satan. He'll do anything to try and make you slide from your faith..
Just remeber,Satan is allowed on this earth for the time being. He can create a lot of trouble, and he will as long as he can.

Also, we all still make mistakes..For every sin there is a consequence. So some of the pain we go through, we have brought up on ourselves.

I hope this answers your question.

Allow me to put a pre-emptive stop to this line of reasoning:

If something is deeply personal to you, then that means it is completely SUBJECTIVE. You CANNOT debate with subjective arguments! If you have nothing objective to say, then it is not worth hearing [in the context of this debate].

I'm sure you might be a very nice person to get to know, but for the purposes of this debate, nobody gives a shit about your personal life.
