Teen queen Lohan says she may be Cruise co-star in next Mission Impossible
NEW YORK (AP) - Lindsay Lohan has a mission ... and she wants to accept it.
The actress says she has met with Mission: Impossible III director J.J. Abrams regarding the possibility of starring in the third instalment of the 1960s TV show remake.
"I actually met with J.J. Abrams, who is directing," Lohan says in an interview on Access Hollywood. "I'm a huge fan of Lost and Alias, so hopefully, we will see what happens. If so, I'll be in training for a few weeks, putting on some muscles."
Abrams, the creator of both hit TV shows, was tapped last year for the directing gig. Paramount Pictures, the studio producing the sequel, is yet to announce any casting besides its star, Tom Cruise. Sidekick Ving Rhames is also expected to return.
"It's kind of an incredible feeling, I'm scared," Lohan said of the prospect of working with Cruise. "If I do Mission Impossible III that is going to be so exhilarating. I'm so excited, I just can't wait to do stunts and get all into it."
Mission Impossible III has been scheduled to begin shooting this summer and be released next year.
The 18-year-old actress will star this summer in Herbie: Fully Loaded, to hit theatres June 22. She will also host Saturday Night Live this week, the season finale.

I'm probably opening a massive can of worms here, but nonetheless:

I don't think I need to bring up the US overweight-issue here, as it should be obvious why dieting, gyms and related things are getting pushed frenetically to the public in every single way nowadays.
| quote: |
Then men, objectifying women constantly. I don't think there is one day on TA that a thread with a "hot woman" (who is undoubtedly under-weight) appears, and all the replies of "I'd hit it". Sometimes there are threads souly dedicated to this purpose.
|
I find this insulting. I can't express that a woman is attractive on a picture without "objectifying them"? Sure, "I'd hit it" is childish, but going from there to automatically assume that we view them as pieces of meat is one hell of a generalization to make. Furthermore, I doubt I need to point out that pretty much all of the males on here think stick figure-bodies are far from as attractive as a slightly more built one. And what about women drooling over men's pictures, how come I never see any outrage and/or objectifying-complaints there?
| quote: |
Women see this, and realize that in order to recieve the attention/love/acceptance, they need to look like that. An eating disorder materializes.
|
That is a way too one-sided and easy way of explaining eating disorders. Watching Beyonce on MTV regularly is not enough to make one develop, it takes many other factors before that happens, such as problems at home or in your social circuit, as well as genetic potential.
| quote: |
It's a shame, and all of us are a part of the problem. You can blame these women, but essentially it isn't their fault. When you are led by all of society to believe something, you begin to act upon it. I bet women in hollywood recieve this pressure more than a typical woman, considering they DO have the spot light on them constantly.
|
You are "led by society to believe in something"? Have these women no way of thinking critically themselves and evaluating the impressions they get from the media? How come a lot of celebrities manage to stay healthy looking and well nourished when they have just as much of a spotlight as Lindsay Lohan? And furthermore, how come the trend nowadays goes more and more in the direction of looking as natural as possible when modeling if people really are so hellbent on the beauty ideals you just described? I think you are giving a lot of these women way too much credit. (or too little, depending on how you look at it)
| quote: | | I hope that one day they can realize that they are beautiful. |
People are ugly. That includes celebrities. Fortunately, there are other things that make people attractive so that everyone can get some.
