TPOD 2 Samples

Well the TPOD2 tracklist and samples have just been posted on the Paul van Dyk website (they've been up elsewhere for almost 2 months)..

There are short 15-20 sec. samples here:

http://www.paulvandyk.de/share/micro/pod2/

...along with the PVD 'official' finalized tracklisting, which doesn't really look different from anything I've seen,

For full-length RealAudio 192k samples, try this site:

http://www.nettwerk.com/cd.jsp?cd=4091

'The Other Side' music video is also there, check that out!

You all probably knew about all this, but hope this helps anyways!
Enjoy!

the mixing in the whole cd is crap, + the bpm is way to high

He's been doing this the past few years in all of his sets I think in an attempt to give them his own sound; but I agree, lots of times I listen to his stuff I feel like he just needs to slow it down a couple of bpms.

Politics of Dancing 2

I still haven't heard the whole 2CD mix in the entirety, just the tracks by themselves individually (i.e.I didn't get the promo, and I can't find a rip)

So, most people are saying the mixing is bad with TPOD2...

TPOD1 was awesome mixing, in my opinion, the blending of the elements throughout the mix to give it one, continous feel was nothing short of excellent....I really enjoyed TPOD1, I think it all turned out really good.

From listening to the tracks on the nettwerk site, it doesn't really sound like there IS much mixing, I mean, not alot of blending or time given for the mixing between tracks (i.e. quick transitions), the bpm ratio does seem consistent, as is PVD-style for his CD release mix albums...but this mix sounds totally different than TPOD1

My opinion: CD1 is supposed to be the 'low tempo/chill' mix, and CD2 is supposed to be the hard-edge dancefloor banging mix....I will agree that CD2 sounds more like what he's been playing at his liveshows for the first half of 2005, but CD1 really doesn't seem like a 'chillout' mix like CD #1 of TPOD1 did...that was more downbeat and chill...CD1 of TPOD2 sounds more like an energy trance mix, in my opinion. the Paul van Dyk website lays it out as "CD1: Slower, melodic grooves" and "CD2: tougher beats" I guess, if that makes sense, you might look at it that way...

Still, I'm eagerly waiting the release of this mix album, from the previews it sounds like a great selection of tunes for another hit PVD release...but totally different from TPOD1.

All the best in PVD,
peace.

I'm a PVD fan but I've been listening to this the last few days and I just doesn't move me. Maybe it's because I own half the tracks already and feel like I could have made this mix. TPOD 1 is timeless for me. I can put it on and enjoy it still today. I just can't see wanting to listen to this in a year.

In some ways I think this was doomed from the beginning because the expectations where massive. On top of that it was announced FOREVER ago. Then TPOD 2 Tour came and went months ago but still no release. To top it off the entire release was available all over the net before Paul even released the track listing on his site. If there ever is a TPOD 3 I hope it’s kept quite until it is ready to release. I know it's hard to do these days with the internet but this release might hit the discount rack next month.

Regardless, I'll buy a copy to show support.

bpm too high? this is PVD we are talking about, why would you expect anything different from PVD?...that is his trade signature, the fast bass
