I think there's some misinterpretation here so I'm going to clarify.
Texas won the game at Ohio State. Their defense kept the Buckeyes out of the endzone for a majority of the game and kept their offense close enough for Vince Young to lead a legendary drive at the end of the game. However, Ohio State gave the game away by missing the oppurtunities i listed above. Converting any one of them turns the game around entirely. Yes, they did not convert any of them.
I don't mind that they're not undefeatedand and I still argue that they're in the national title chase, but on the outside looking in. I believe Ohio State can hang with any team in the country and beat any of them if the gods or whatever are on their side that day. There's alot of football to be played and alot of dangerous roads for teams to traverse. If six or seven of the top 7 lose, Ohio State has proven themselves more than worthy of consideration. Six or seven of those teams losing is not unthinkable. |
As an OSU fan you should know the way things work most of the time. When Michigan is in position to win the Big Ten and make it to the national championship, OSU upsets them. This year Michigan is already done, which means they're going to whoop the shit out of OSU at the end of the year.
Besides, OSU has a few tough matchups and they could lose any one, two, or three of them: at PSU (night game), MSU, at Minnesota, and at Michigan.
