amazing end to an amazing game, to win the series
Chris Burke (who got his first ever homer against Pedro, breaking up his no-hitter) with walk-off homer in the 18th

Good thing they won in that inning because I think we all know that Clemens was TOAST if he went back out there.

The Bambino called home runs while he was at bat... thats just not normal, lol.

And Ted Williams, was without a doubt the best hitter. 2 triple crowns, and 6 or so batting titles. Definitely the most deserving player in MLB history to win a WS and never do it.

Wellllll... Babe Ruth called his shot once. And that's not even confirmed. Also, as much as I dig Ted Williams, how you can say he's a better hitter than Ruth is beyond me. Babe Ruth is the best hitter of all time.

Simply because Ted Williams did it in a pitchers era.

Actually, no. Dead-ball era ended in 1919. Babe Ruth's first absurd Home Run year was 1920. Coincidence? I doubt it. However...

OPS + is a stat used that translates stats that a player put up into one number. It's found by taking the stats and comparing them to the league average at the time. So that way all factors are taken into effect. A player from the 10's and 20's who puts up identical raw stats to a player from the 90's and 00's will have a much higher OPS + because the league averages were way down back then. That being said (with 100 being 'average':

Ted Williams career OPS + = 190.
Babe Ruth career OPS + = 207.

For reference, the next 3 are:

Barry Bonds = 184
Lou Gehrig = 179
Rogers Hornsby (one of the most underrated ball players of all-time = 175

See thats alittle too much info for me to know about baseball.

It was probably Ruth's obsurd slugging percentage that gets him up there.
