I wouldn't trade Milledge for him. And probably not Reyes. While Miggy is good, he's not that good. He is definitely a product of the AL and Camden Yards. His OPS hasn't been .900+ ever.

Tejada was never one of Beane's fav players, too much of a see ball, hit ball kind of guy.

He had a really good first half last year that kind of masked his mediocre second half. I know cuz he was on one of my teams and I noticed the big dropoff.

I'd take Manny in this deal... even though he stands there to watch his homerun when his team is losing 2-7.

true . made a good point not to trade your best player to another team in the same division (ala babe ruth boston => yankees or thome indians=>phillies=>white sox) .. i cant wait to see jacobs field when thome comes up to plate in a white sox uniform .. at least albert belle was smart enough (for once .. geez) to move to baltimore, instead of another team in the same division .

It all depends on the terms the player left, obviously. I actually can't wait for Cameron's first game back at Shea. I'll get there early to see if I can see him and talk a little bit.

I think Wilkerson has the potential to be a really good player. He is young enough, he plays fairly decent defense, good power and great OBP. In Texas... wow. He could be a force. I really can't wait to see what their stats end up looking like.

Agreed. Wilkerson can be a threat both offesnively and defensively. His strikes outs can be amended with some batting coaching. I was hoping to see him improve and make a stellar start with the Nationals next season. Soriano is good, but I think it'll take some time for adjustment to the NL and a new franchised Washington team.

We'll see though

i don't know .. i cant question about it ..

AL players having more success switching over to the NL ( thome, carlos delgado, pedro martinez, jim edmonds)

cant think of any NL players who had success switching to the AL ...

some AL players i can think of that didnt do so well in the NL include Matt Lawton, and etc ... cant name some at the moment ...

but imo, an AL player moving the NL is harder than vice versa ... seems pitching is better in the NL, and the AL pitching is mediocre .

I have no idea either. But when I look at Soriano's Home/Away splits... and then I look at how much of a pitcher's park RFK is... all I see is doom for Sori.

Considering that Soriano is refusing to play the OF, I'm not sure he's gonna end up playing in RFK anyway.

Vlad is the only one of the current ones i can think of right now,and out of the older players Frank Robinson won the mvp in both leagues(and if you meet him he willl make sure to tell you that)

Ugh. Which means Omar may still try to get him.

I hope Omar doesn't go after Soriano, all i want is Orlando Hudson and vazquez and i'll be happy and maybe a bit of middle relief set up men.
In other news taken from www.cnnsi.com
ATLANTA (SI.com) -- Miguel Tejada's demand to be traded sparked immediate interest from the Boston Red Sox.

According the the Boston Herald, the Red Sox called the Baltimore Orioles on Friday to gauge their interest in a straight-up, Tejada-for-Manny Ramirez swap.

The Red Sox's inquiry came a day after they created a vacancy at shortstop by trading Edgar Renteria to the Atlanta Braves, a transaction followed shortly by Tejada's announcement that he wanted to be traded.

Tejada also informed a source close to him that he welcomed a trade to the Red Sox, the Herald reported. With Tejada having four years and approximately $49 million remaining on his deal and Ramirez with three years and $57 million left, the stage would seem to be set for an epic swap.

"The Orioles will explore trading for Ramirez," the source said. "It's a logical move to make, but I don't know how likely it is right now."

The source indicated the Orioles would need the Red Sox to throw in a starter or reliever before the deal could be considered more seriously.

The Herald also reported that multiple teams contacted the Orioles on Friday and presented enough intriguing offers that even the prospect of Ramirez launching home runs at Camden Yards did not stand out.

"Some of the other teams match up as well as the Red Sox, which is why it doesn't look likely," said the source.

The source indicated the Orioles are attempting to determine just how unhappy Tejada is and whether or not he was having a really bad day or has every intention of making the Orioles' lives miserable until he is moved.
