you mean, a 5-race engine-or-suspension-breaking streak.

meanwhile alonso sets the record for biggest number of 2nd places in a season and wins the championship by an huge margin.

Has anyone here ever been to a GP? Im asking because im thinking of getting tickets for silverstone and was wondering if it would be worth the money? (£250 is not cheap )

I've always thought that it would be weird just sitting in one place and just watching the cars flash past you, not knowing everyones position on the track or what strategies are being used. However, you would be able to hear and probably smell the engines which would be awesome.

Anyway, back to the last race, i thought it was pretty boring - i hate it when people competing for a win drop out at the beginning of the race, i hope kimi doesn't have another year of constant bad luck. I also hate it when there is barely any overtaking after half the race - you pretty much know who's gonna win.

I went Silverstone a few years back and it is dear even for general admission compared to other races. Typical of England then really.

To be honest you don't really have a clue what's going on and who is where after traffic has been lapped and the first pit stops have been.
But there are big screens dotted about to keep an eye on and speakers with commentary of the race (when you can hear them).

If you're into the sport then you should defianetly go, it's worth it just for the atmosphere and experience - even if you don't get as good coverage as you do at home.

I don't like the man either; but I must give him credit for his skill.

Aussie GP this weekend at Melbourne, as usual Davidson was faster in both Friday practice sessions.

FIA announced the number of teams that have applied for places in the 2008 line-up is no more no less than....... 22. Omgwtfbbq. That's enough for two series (Max's promotion-relegation scheme?). I don't really think everyone will be accepted (there aren't even enough different rumours to cover all possible extra teams so some there could be not very credible), but I'm very curious as to how this will turn out. 44 cars at a grand prix

Sadly you're right. There are only 12 slots allocated (24 cars) for the 2008 season. 12 of the teams will have to be rejected.
And from what I can make out all the current teams have applied... so that could mean none of the new applicants get in?

There's currently 11 teams, so at least 1 will get in. Direxiv (McLaren B), Prodrive and Paul Stoddart's "Minardi" are the favourites. And since there's so much interest I can see FIA trying to squeeze in one or two more applications, making it 13 or 14. Problem is most teams don't want more competitors as it reduces their share of revenue, I guess it's a matter of negotiating with everyone. There's that meeting with all applicants and FIA on April 10, surely by then they'll try to find a better solution than refusing 10 applications.

I'm wondering if all this isn't some April Fools joke in Australia already
