The main reason why DJs, celebrities and the entire dance scene and the like are associated with drugs is because most people enjoying it are really extravert. Same goes for celebrities, think of artists, actors and musicians (creativity). Those characteristics go hand in hand with drug use. That's even been proven scientifically. Therefor I find it extremely funny that those scenes are often accused of causing drug use. What people fail to understand is the the causual link. It's not that scene that encourages drug use, it's the people in it that are pulled towards it.

I'm sorry this is the only post I read and I had to make a comment....I dont know if anyone else mentioned this but PVD is a huge hypocrite. He does these anti drug campaigns, and yet I’ve seen with my own 2 eyes, him taking pills from a promoters’ hand! And they weren’t Tylenol ill tell you that much!

In fact the whole club/party scene is associated with drugs, in the eyes of many people, at least.
That's why Trance and Techno music gets a bad rep in the media.

i agree ^^^^

I'm sure nearly all of them do something. In my personal experience, Sandra Collins would probably be the biggest user and abuser. My wife and I once held her up because she could barely walk at a party where she spun. All she could ask was where can I get some meth? My friend snapped a pic of us holding her. Also, I have seen Astral Projection blatantly and openly get smashed during their sets. So much so that the last time I saw them, the one guy was literally laying on the keyboard, barely coherent. This made it completely obvious their so called "live PA" was nothing more than a front. I lost a lot of respect for them after seeing that. At least wait until your done performing to get smeared. I think that is completely disrespectful to the paying audience and shows how much they don't give a shit.

I've heard that on some nights, Jeff Mills can barely remember his name let alone spin . Just what I heard, don't go by this

THIS IS A FACT:
drugs bring the creativity out of people. i know this because ive done marijuana research and this is a fact proven by research.

from my experience (smoking marijuana very occasionaly), ive found out that i become such a critic when i listen to music. for example, when i smoke and listen to mixes, i can pinpoint a mistake and how the transition couldve been made smoother or better. i am a dj and a rookie producer, and i can tell u that smoking really brings out the creativity. not just for music, but anything and everything. im sure u all know what im talkin about. but as for music, i really get to know music better when im high.
i think drugs is not bad, but not having ur control over it is bad. i do drugs, i know my limit so i know its alright. but i know drugs is not good for some other ppl like sandra collins.
so drugs really do bring creativity out, i remember i was just sitting and making music in my head and wanting to go home to record what was in my mind.

lol they were prob caffeine pills or something

noway pvd is gonna roll why he spins..i dont see that happening

if he rolled why he spun he would actually be more interactive other then standing there whole time staring at the mixer and grinning rarely and occasionally moving his hands and arms lol
