I don't see how i did I liked most of what was 'popular' in the late 90s, early 00s, I listened to ASOT early on, but I believe the beginning of the downfall came with the Armada label. It was around that time (even though the first releases were very good in 2003) that the 'trance by numbers' theorum came about, tracks became too similar, then with producers like andy moor, adam white & markus, they became too predictable. You could predict the structure of every track on the first listen. Then pointless vocals began, Atrc, burned with desire etc etc which again pushed me away. I began exploring other genres because I craved new creative music, and it's widened by horizon by doing so, however I do remain skeptical about some things that are about today because I just don't feel the genre i loved anymore.

I'm sure there are loads of fans of it. But those older Sasha fans which remember him as the Sasha which mixed GU009 and GU013 know what I'm talking about when I'm saying "bring back da old Sasha!"

I've never rated sasha in my life, I always found when he was playing the now 'oldskool' sounds that here were better DJs such as Carl Cox, Top Buzz & other names, some of who don't play now or aren't as well known, others who like cox & sasha moved onto other sounds.

the stuff he spins is quality. the same cant be said about armin and tijs' stuff. they spin pop. he spins slightly more serious dance music..which would be harder to get into for any pure fan of trance. not to mention he knows how to construct a set and mix well unlike Tijs.

sasha is past his prime no doubt but he still puts out quality stuff...armin and tijs do not.

I'm not so sure. I find alot of the stuff Sasha plays just plain boring. But on the other hands that is just not my style. It's just not the kind of music I would dance my feets off to.
As you said Sashas strenght is his mixing and setting up a set which is superior to Tiesto which trainwrecks way too often to be called a top DJ.

different strokes. some people love dancing to the slower funky house/prog stuff and others love less subtle music. myself, I can appreciate both if done right.

Dude; they don't spin pop at all... Well armin plays more pop than tijs; but maybe only 5% of a set is pop. Of course Sasha plays more 'underground' stuff; but don't use such a ridiculous statements as "they only spin pop".

yeah i agree. I have no idea what most of the songs are on their sets. The way some of these guys talk, its like they spin nothing but Lasgo - Alone and Eric Prydz - Call on me

none of my friends even know who Armin and Tiesto are. Maybe in the Edm world they are "pop", but still, I agree with the 5%
