I was very pissed at how quick it sold out - I was two days from the paycheck I was going to use to buy the $250 ticket.
Anywho, I'll be there with fellow Coloradoans and a huge onslaught of folks coming from Hawaii for this. We'll be the tent block with the Mountainsmith logos on everything, lol.

Honestly, I think the "sell out" is just a marketing ploy. The Sunday tix maybe because of RATM but the rest is just hype. I doubt that 60,000 ticktets sold out for The Red Hott Chilli Peppers and Tiesto. I call shenanigans!!!!.....now where is my broom?

lol
On the Coachella boards, folks who work at Ticketmaster said its been like this since the beginning with at least 1200 tickets sold a day. If you go on ebay, everyone is selling tix - a lot of people trying to get rid of their Fri/Sat passes because all they wanted was Rage.
And now that Cornell has quit Audioslave.....will RATM reunite and tour post-Coachella? If so, those ticket prices are going to DROP.

From what I hear this will be their only appearance, and they are not going to tour, which is why everyone is jacking up the price!!!
Trust me, I got desperate (especially since I am coming from Miami and had EVERYTHING booed and paid for except my Coachella tix)!!!!
I still have a Sunday pass if anyone is interested, I hear they might release more tickets for Sunday though...

If they do, that would satisfy the Rage fans but I bet Sunday will be packed regardless. Friday will prohably be the least crowded but that's good with me - more Bjork! There might still be ticket brokers with the $500 3-Day pass - that bites you can't come out now.

It's funny how quickly they sold out compared to previous years. Not even Radiohead/Pixies sold out this quick. I think they severely limited single day ticket in order to force people to buy the 3-day passes. Smacks of greed. Or they were just scared they wouldn't sell many Friday ticketss.
I'll wait and see if there's still Friday passes left in April. Might even be able to find one below cost close to the event. Sold out days are too crowdeed anyway.

So where is everyone staying? I was going to get a nice little place that was walking distance from the event but I fell asleep on it and it got all booked up. I just booked my suite at the Westin.

So, I'm really torn on this year's lineup. I think if it was only 2 days, it would be great...but it's spread out over three days, and that's why we're so meh on the whole event.
Don't get me wrong; we'll have a great time once we're there, but in years past there was always multiple talents that we were itching to see...this year: meh.
Top EDM for me:
Soulwax
Faithless
MSTRKRFT
Infected Mushroom
I think there are better non/quasy-EDM acts this year:
Peaches
Rufus!
Arcade Fire
Gotan Project
LCD Soundsystem
!!!
Air
Rodrigo y Gabriela

Red Roof Inn in 1000Palms is decent and fairly cheap.
I do book it about 300 days in advance (and will do so in July 2007 for 2008)
