Alrite not sure if we are talking about lead synths here?

anyway just wondering if anyone could give some tips on creating that really nice characteristic sound from sean tyas - lift (melody)(LINK).

i know it's a simple kinda sound to produce, but im not sure what i need to do to bring in that character into it. i use reason3.0/ableton6 and jp-8080.
but im lacking some good vsti's, have synth1 also.
