those are ugly as sin Ben, and unless you plan on tucking your pants/jeans into boots (which is even gayer than wanting boots in California to begin with), they're still going to drag on the ground and get wet no matter what shoes you're wearing.

just get some decent lo or mid height leather boots and if it's really THAT wet, roll your jeans up a bit so they don't drag.
