Not really - the noticeable gain in quality for the other elements benefiting from 24 bit 96k is worth the incredibly minute loss from dithering IMO.

i cant really understand that it mather if ur working with software only. on recording hardware and vocals etc i get it but not for software. Is it something i dont understand?

It really doesn't make a huge difference but to summarise, your daw does it's processing (software) at 32bit then will convert down to what your system is set to (in your case 16bit 44.1). I prefer to work at 24 bit 96 because I can hear more during the production process, therefore a better mix/production even if software only and eventually going to 16bit 44.1

The only thing it's costing you is more storage space and processing power but if you have enough, why not?

This is what I explained in the other bitrate/bit-depth thread. There is absolutely no point if you don't plan to edit those samples, but if you are going to do a lot of offline processing, you're more likely to lose fidelity if you keep them in 16 bits.

I do a ton of offline processing for stutter edits and atmospheric effects, which is why I always up-convert to 32 bits.
