I did take some cool pictures though

Wow that's cool dude, glad you got out. Post the pics

If the conservatives came out with this drivel id be slamming them too. Just as I am disappointed that Harper has morphed into a Red Tory or worse! But thats a whole other thread!

Ignatieff's motives are clear, win their votes for the next election. Again, for McGuinty, its about votes. The NDP would love to swoop in and empathize, because this is right up their alley. McGuinty could care less about the conservatives in Ontario, because their party is broken, and clearly not a threat, but the NDP is (in Toronto).

The whole protest is idiotic to say the least. They are protesting, for the government to do something. Have they even looked at what powers the Fed has? The entire thing is so unorganized, which is demonstrated by the fact that these people just show up, no coordination.

Then there is their general appearance. If you want to be taken seriously, fuckin comb your hair you vagabonds. These people look like they all just roll out of bed, then hop on TV and start talking nonsense. There is a general air of desperation, and illogical thinking when it comes down to it.

But it has to be said, which I have not read in this thread, that Tamils and Sri Lankan's should be treated differently. Don't hate on the Sri's, most of Toronto's restaurants are filled with them as our cooks, don't loose your lunch!

But honestly though...

What do they expect our government is going to do??

Send some aid, reinfocements, get-well cards to the civilians?

I don't think our government will be providing any kind of assistance or aid to the a terrorist organization.

We should just send them all on a bus to the UN and they can continue their protests over there to someone who can 'try' to do something.

Megabus has cheap deals to NYC.

I say the government just ask for proof of citizenship and if they can't provide proof...send them back home.

can't help but see the similarities between Tamil and Kosovo.. both were labelled as terrorists by the west, and both were seeking independance.. you can thank Steven Harper for illegally recognizing Kosovo's independance last year

hate to say it, but its just gonna get worse with these protests.. the conservatives opened the pandora's box w/ Kosovo, and they're keeping their mouths shut w/ the Tamils.. every group around the globe that feels it should secede and be recognized as a country will take it to the streets

*sigh*

wow man... some of you guys are fucking ****s.

more power to them i say! they have the right to peaceful demonstration. If we were in europe we'd have to deal with this on the regular and on a much larger scale.

I'm sorry, but once your protest affects the lives of innocent people its no longer a peaceful protest. Yes, there is no blood shed but that doesn't make it a peaceful protest.

I really couldn't care less..people have a right to protest..and ya, maybe they're idiots for going on the Gardiner..and maybe if i was stuck in traffic, i would be annoyed..but than again...it would be just another day in my life of commuting..

It just scares me how many people out there are just ready to spring into action to let the inner bigot out...

I refuse to believe that people are this traumatized because there was a protest that closed a major highway..give me a break.

so you think people should be able to break law on their whim?

its not like canadians live in a totalitarian state, and you dont have a right to free speech without breaking the law
