Actually, inflation is the reason the USD value goes down. Not anything Iran did.

Where do you get that from? By my recollection, China owns more than $700 billion in US treasury bonds. In the last decade, 2/3 of all currency reserves held in the world were in US dollars. 1/4 was in euros. The dollar is still the de facto reserve currency of the world.

Most of the muslim world is SUNNI. Ahmadinejad is a SHIITE. What makes you think he "guides" the muslim world? That's like the pope guiding protestant christians.

Ahmadinejad has on many other occassions have given tit for tat excellent rebbuttals.. like challenging israel to shed its nuclear arms before asking iran to shed nuclear power plants.. there are so many good rebbutals he made in last 4-5 yrs.. i dont remember them all..

The man is the George W Bush of Iran. Time for him to go! He served his purpose. Bush is gone. Now Ahmadinijad must be gone.

So why are then European leaders like Merkel and Sarkozy even more vocal than Obama on that matter?

Except that it is mostly non-arab.

Anyway, if anyone wants to help those guys over there a bit, it seems that Iranian security agencies are trying to identify people from the protests. So feel free to spam them with false names and data, especially you guys who know the language...

Lemonad, Hardcore Trancer, and other Iranians - I am sorry for your pain and loss. I feel the overwhelming majorty of the people on this board feel the same.
Krypton, I know you hate George W Bush with a passion, but come on now. I too wanted to see Gore win in 2000, but the eclection really was very close. Yes, Gore won more votes overall, but he came out and ultimately accepted defeat.
Has George W Bush denied the holocaust? Did he order the CIA to shoot demonstrators who protested against him every day for 8 years? Did you see anyone like that poor girl Neda die in her father's arms b/c of president Bush? Did he arrest you for your political views? Did he slow down your internert access or block it altogether? Did he accuse foreign governments of meddling with US elections?

Whether you hate or Republicans or not, let's put things in perspective.

And Kinezi, you need to get out of Egypt cuz you're living in denial

For years fundamentalists have accused America of being the great Satan, not the countries of Europe. In fact, America and Iran do not have official diplomatic ties. Therefore, I am glad that countries like Germany and France are speaking up in a vocal manner.
Whether you realize it or not, part of the reason you see young people in Iran stand up against their leaders is b/c they idolize Obama. They see him as a man of peace, they want someone like him to be their president. They don't want to hate a man who doesnt hate them, and they're ashamed of their leader.

People comparing US Elections to the situation in Iran are fucking insane.

Iran reminds me that despite our faults and transgressions, this country is still about as free and as democratic as it gets...

No, George Bush did something much worse. His administration engaged in a war of choice, war of aggression...whatever you want to call it...

That's not even the point. Antagonistic diplomacy has been tried and failed. The American people have obviously voted in favor of a change in foreign policy. Well, the Iranian version of antagonistic diplomacy, Ahmadinijad, has a huge part of the country in favor of a change as well. The same change that America has made. Therefore, Ahmadinijad, the George Bush of Iran, has to go.

It is amazing how much the Internet has empowered the globe. 10 years ago we would have been essentially blind to what is going on. Today we can see history unfolding before our very eyes.

Warning: Graphic. I believe this is from today:
