they are actually amazing band and you probably at least heard their songs even if you don't know their name.

i also do think that in Toronto, we minimize Deadmau5's popularity. oh well. it's not really worth arguing over. Joel says he ain't filthy rich and i tend to believe that. but i also believe that arcade fire are not filthy rich.

Arcade Fire only sold out the O2 arena in London in 5 minutes. The only person to ever sell tickets faster for that venue?

Michael Jackson.

Arcade Fire had to add a second show, which sold out in 20.

the O2 is one of the premier venues in the world.

Moncton? Try every city but Toronto in Canada.

For the Montreal show of the U2 tour (which is incidentally on its way to being the highest grossing tour of all time) Arcade Fire is not opening, they are splitting the bill, meaning for the show on the second day they are closing not opening.

U2 spent 3 million dollars of their own money to build a temporary stadium for these 2 shows, and the gate alone is going to be over 10 million (without merch and concessions which for this are going to the bands.)

Deadmau5 is going to play the Rogers Center alone indeed....do you think 55 000 people will go? I'll be surprised if they break 20 000, which incidentally isn't even close to the capacity of the temp stadium at the hippodrome in montreal (which took over a year to build for only 2 shows.) To be honest they won't come close to 20 000...if deadmau5 gets 10k people it will be a huge success.

this I agree, perhaps maybe 20,000 is even pushing it?

it is, i just wanted to inflate the numbers to show that even if he gets 20k, it is still less than the attendance the other band gets for 2 hows here. (yes i know U2 has something to do with it...but the gate for these shows will be comparable to what the ufc did in toronto...which was 55000+ in the dome)

I think he's pushing it too...unless there's promo like crazy, on tv, commercials, everything.

Hell, Daft Punk looked like they came at 10,000 or so. Maybe less at Arrow Hall.

check the post above you.

bal en blanc couldn't even get 15k this year.

not to mention cheap tickets are going for 500$ a pop from the band's website.
