Just wanted to share this since I mentioned it before.
Dredd's editing isn't as slow as I thought. The average shot length is 3.7 seconds, which can still be considered conventional when compared to mainstream comic book adaptations (Iron Man - 3.7, Thor - 3.2, The Dark Knight - 3.1, Superman Returns - 3.1).

The action just feels slow. Characters hardly run and there aren't any real chases. At times there is a general sense of busyness, but not of movement. Most of the dialogue is also edited relatively fast with plenty of reaction shots. The pace of the film is quite steady.
