seriously people are complaining about coat check and not enough washrooms?

I remember going to guv in 2002-2007 and i can't even remember how many times i'd show up and the coat check would be full.. If you arrive to an opening of sold out night in a huge nightclub at 12:15, I'm sorry, you shouldn't expect for a coat check to be NOT full. Place was rammed to the tits, I'm sure any other night coat check would be just fine.

I disagree completely. Coat check should be big enough to accommodate each and every single person inside, even if it's at full capacity. If they can't accommodate someone, then it's simply not big enough. Maximum capacity shouldn't mean maximum amount of people you can legally stuff into a venue. It should mean maximum amount number people you can comfortably accommodate, including coat check and your wait at the bar /bathroom. Comparing it to shit shows that have happened at guv doesn't justify anything or make it acceptable.

I have worked coat check in various clubs before years ago, there is not one club in toronto that has enough coatcheck for a full capacity venue, prove me wrong.

What's acceptable and what is not is a different story.

They won't fix the lineup situation...it's FW management we're talking about so they're gonna repeat the same crap from before. I was amazed I was able to waltz in despite me having a ticket cuz I thought they'd pull some BS on me as well.

I guess it wasn't oversold cuz there was room to walk around where the bar area in the back is (which is a good thing). That being said, the coat check situation is lousy, as this place can't handle a full crowd and the bathroom situation is messed up too. 3 stalls and like 5 urinals? I've been to plenty of other clubs in Tdot and around the world where it was full and didn't have issues with coatcheck and the bathroom...so they seriously need to fix this.

More thoughts on this place...the DJ booth isn't raised up that high which allows for more interaction between people, which is good. Half these DJs aren't doing much at the front anyway so it's good that people aren't only focused on whatever they're doing.

Wow, you are such fucking knob. I don't work for the club, but I was a patron of Footwork for over 7 years and as a result, know the people who run the place personally. I can say with complete confidence that they do everything they can to put the customer first. As I'm sure most have noticed before, I'm not someone who doles out these kind of compliments for no reason, and will not mince words when I have experienced an unreasonably shitty situation at a party. Knowing how hard these guys work to make things run smoothly for their patrons makes stupid comments like yours insulting.

I don't know what fantasy land you're living in, but reading your complaints about Footwork over the years (including the complaint about Coda), you seem to think that if you arrive past midnight to a massive party, with tickets completely sold out, that you are just going to be able to prance in on red carpet with no wait. Show me any nightclub in Toronto or even globally where this is going to happen (yes, even if you have a ticket). The door staff who worked at Footwork and now Coda are some of the most patient door staff I've ever met anywhere. In an at-capacity situation at almost any other nightclub, door staff, bark, yell, and treat the people in line like cattle. Even if you have a ticket, on a night like this you would run a huge risk not getting in if you arrived this late. This rarely happens with Coda door staff.

If you don't like lines, why don't you show up earlier? Better yet, why don't you stay home? You sure seem to have a hate on for this club and the people involved.

Agreed. Footwork and Coda bouncers are the nicest, most respectful and most patient in the business as far as I can tell.

Coats aren't the only thing checked son. Bags, backpacks, purses, etc all take up space. And if a venue goes over legal capacity that's a different story.
