Given these patterns, it would be pretty safe to pick the Netherlands, France, Brazil, England, Belgium, your Iberian country of choice [my model picked Spain], Argentina, and a wildcard as the ones going all the way to the quarterfinals. | As far as patterns go, this wasn't that much of a shocker after all. Sure, Brazil was the one odd out (it's the first time we don't reach the quarterfinals this century), but Netherlands versus Morocco wasn't as lopsided as it could have been either, so it was a close-ish call.
Shame about Egypt, they nearly clinched a spot in the next round, heh.
Edit: (Un)fun fact: From 1934 up until 2014, there were no semifinals without Germany, Italy, or Brazil. One of them was always present. Then, after the 7-1, neither Germany nor Brazil ever made it to the semifinals ever again, and Italy didn't even qualify. I've watched Dark enough times to know that this, and Ziko scoring for Egypt, has got to be some sort of Sic Mundus Creatus Est nonsense.
