Worth Every Penny!

Well, I cashed in some vacation time, flew in from Calgary, slept on a friends' couch (Thanks Ninjapimp) and hit the Guv/KH hard this past weekend. As most of you, I had a fantastic time and re-affirmed my love of life on this big blue marble.

As illustrated by my nick, I proudly proclaim myself a PvD whore and knew Paul would be Paul. I've seen Paul four times (Cancun, Calgary, Montreal and now Toronto) and all four times were inspirational and extremely magical in many different and fabulous ways. I will remember the TO show fondly in particular for a few reasons.

First of all, the true reciprocation of respect and love between Paul and the crowd. It was genuine in all senses of the word. Secondly, the perfect size of the venue and the KH's effort to recreate a Deutsch "halle". Kind of lost on most unless you're German. Thirdly, the incredible efforts of MO to set the scene and close the book. He is truly amazing and you guys are so lucky to have such a res. (His opening set for PvD in Calgary last March was so solid).

In closing, to all TOTA's and all other TA's there, I didn't get to meet any of you but like the Armed Forces, just knowing you were there was comfort enough.

5 Favorites Moments and/or Tracks:

Digital Pressure - Aftershokk (Paul's now signature opener)
Wolfsheim - Wondervoll (So good..especially for us Ger-Cans)
Three Drives - Carrera 2 (Nu-Nrg Mix) (enough said)
Agnelli & Nelson - Holding On To Nothing (Thanks random TO girl for making this special)
DK - Murder Was The Bass (PvD edit) (Call me crazy..swear Paul played with this to transition some tracks)

Well, I am only posting now, but better now than never. I had a good time, taking in consideration that I haven't been out in a while.
I finally got to dance my butt off again. Set ups were VERY nice, but the masses of people got to me, especially when I went out to the guv to get a friendand 10 minutes later I wanted to come back into the Koolhaus, but that took me a loooong time... So I misses some of PVD styles. THe most memorable track that I heard, and a pleasant surprise was Andain- Beautiful Things, and that was great! I did not meet up with any of u TA's this time, but that will be at the next party. SO, Paul Van Dyk pulled out some nice styles again for us! Gotta go study now.

Ciao

This party turned out to be an odd one for me. I figured with Deep Dish pumping out the proggy goodness i usually crave, that id be so infactuated it would force me to miss PVD. Considering Deep Dish hadnt come on til 12:45 or so (if i remember correctly), I decided to go check out Van Dyk. HOLY FUCK!!! Totally blown away by the vibe in the Kool Haus. It was brighter, crazy ass lazers, people just going insane!! Not to mention the pace of the music was a lot better for me on this night due to my extreme amounts of energy. Partied in there for about an hour, just loving every second of it.....while leaving behind my bro, cuz, and friend in the Guv. Had an amazing time with Mike and Jenna, was dancin up a storm with Stereoprincess and Ukrainianstud, too many others to mention.....but you know who you are. But i do have to say Jacob, Mike and myself were just rippin the dance floor to shreds towards the end of PVD's set!!! From what i heard of Deep Dish, the beginning was great....the end, alright.....for their standards (which is still better than most). Mark, you slammed my ass into the turf after Pauls set!!! Murder Was The Bass & New Time New Place got a huge reaction from the crowd, and seemed to boost everybodys energy! Overall great party, Guv vibe was a lil skectchy at times, which kept me going back to the Kool Haus even tho the Dish is way up there on the list for me.

Next stop - System Soundbar [Scumfrog/Luke Fair/Dj Mute] (10.17.03.)

I hope everyone enjoyed the Guvernment 7 yr Anniversary! I only attended the Sunday event, due to insane amount of homework!

I got in just in time for Paul van Dyk! All I have to say was this BOD MON was ruthless! Paul van Dyk, did not hesitate for one bit and started off his set HARD! I’ve see him 4x already and every time, his mixing is FLAWLESS! Smooth transition from one genre to another! Every choon was wicked and the crowd was diggin’ it! I hope this BOD MON returns soon!

The vibe was retardly wicked, everyone was happy! Pure VIBEZ inside the venue!

Everywhere I went I saw TAz, I think that was the biggest attendance for TA. BIG UP our crew and maximum respectz for representing! I couldn’t stop walking around all night talking and chillin’ with so many TAz and none TAz!

Shout out:
EVERY SINGLE TA that attended this party! Wayyyyyyyy too many of you to list!

Thanks:
- Guvernment, for providing TOTA the VIP passes, for bring Paul van Dyk to Toronto again and for holding such a killa party!
- Toronto & US TAz, for coming out!
- Everyone inside the venue for keepin’ the VIBE real and Proppa!

Next Guvenrment Party for me, Theory & Focus: Halloween S – FILE TOUR!

Respectz

E2EK1EL

PS.
I only work this hard for the TA Family, hope those who won the contest, enjoyed the VIP PASSES for both of these events!

Wow. What a crazy weekend! We got up Saturday afternoon, and about 12 of my friends from Buffalo met up at different apartments of our TO crew. A few of us had a nice dinner at my friend's place, then we met at The Guv. Mark, as always, rocked a hot set. Armin's set was great, and it was nice to see him full of energy behind the wheels. It was nice to hear him play both Yet Another Day and Sunburn.

Victor...good meeting you bro. I didn't know I was that easy to pick out of the crowd, based on my pics. Well...maybe it's my height

I was quite astonished to be back at 100% by dinnertime on Saturday. We came in through the VIP Lounge, and Deep Dish was rockin some nice beats at the time, but the Kool Haus had what I wanted. Mark, I've never heard you drop a weak set any of the times me and my boys from Buffalo rock one of your nights. Mark had us rockin until PVD came on, and wow. What a hard set. Connected, Traffic, and Beautiful Things, Lethal Industry, and As The Rush Comes...back2back2back!!!

Then Mark comes back on to keep us moving. I had JUST walked into the mens' room, and I heard "I wanna rock, I wanna rock your body rock" to intro the track, and I'm like oh shit, I gotta hurry before Gio drags me out to the dance floor! I got all my friends on this track this summer, from Buff and TO, and everyone went crazy when Mark broke into the beat, and I'm doing my thing and all I hear is "DIGITAL!!! DO YOU HEAR THIS?!?!??!!"

bwhahahaaha...so I finished releasing all the water I drank and got back out to rock it. We kept going until 6:45, and then church at the zone, where some girl thought the "Don't sweat the petty...pet the sweaty" quote on my shirt was geared towards her, and commented every time i walked by her Allen Iverson shirt-wearing ass. :///.

The End
Keep It Digital

Party Hat Re: Re: oh btw..

As has been said probably 50 times now, that was just a sick, sick party....Truly an incredible vibe in the Kool Haus this past weekend. It was incredible as always to party with TOTA's and I also had my Cowtown people here too!

PvD played just a great, great set. No lulls or downtown and the a cappella version! Whoa!

As for Mark O....

You truly continue to do nothing but impress. Your choons are always ahead of the curve and you fit yourself into whomever is playing so nicely.

This was definitely my biggest memory of the night. I finally had a huge spot to dance and took full advantage.

The only negative thing I have to say was to the people who were getting straight garbage signed.....

If you truly value this person as a dj and artist, please don't get him to sign napkins or money or scraps from your pocket. You knew HE was going to be there, you knew YOU were going to be there. Support the man and bring a CD/record/t-shirt/etc. Don't hand him your shit full of pocket lint to sign. Seriously. That's disrespectful.

I second that! I felt horrible when people started giving him bills and tons of other garbage to sign. Seriously, bring something worth it.
