What can I say? After waiting 5 years, Mike stopped nothing short of a perfect set!
Started out typical Push styles, very slow, trippy, wondering what the hell he's playing, and that's exactly his style! His set was one of the best I've ever heard, IMHO! That's what trance is all about, that's how trance is supposed to sound.... it's been too long since I've heard anything like that!
I didn't pay attention to the first 45 mins of Markus' set... to busy talking with Mike, so I must say Elena, Mike is definately not shy to mingle with his fans, did you notice how much conversation I was having with him? Mike told me some very interesting things, and he's a hella nice dude!
Too bad is Mike is moving away from trance... yes it's sad but true, but it was one thing we talked about for a while. He's not a trance man anymore I told him it breaks my heart to hear him say that!
But yeah, I couldn't stop jumping around and bustin loose to his whole set. My advice to everyone, slam back about 3 Red Bulls about 10 mintues before you enter the party.... holy crap I was wired, felt like I was on E!... prolly looked like it too, hahaha
The place was friggin EMPTY when we arrived, I was quite disappointed with the turnout, so I guess I should thank everyone who didn't come, cause you left a shitload of space for dancing, even right in the front
Holy shit, that place went nutzo when he played Strange World
Don't even want to bother with a Markus review. He played really good, exactly how I thought he's play, actually a little faster and harder than I expected... sorry, but the night belonged to Mike!
I met a shitload of people agian, Nas, Ryan, Loren, and... everyone else, wow, wikkidawesome people last night!
Left pretty much right after Markus set, kinda glad I did, heard the next DJ have 2 slip-ups before the first track really even began, WTF Meh.
Don't know what happened to our TA meet-up but I guess we all partied hard front and center all night.
Geez sorry guys, I just want to keep writing more. I just can't get over Mike's set and talking with him so long afterwards. I felt like I was hogging him, but he kept turning around and talking to me. But he knew I was a big fan and he saw how appreciative I was about what he's done. We talked about his upcoming productions, where he's headed, the equipment he uses, geez, he even showed me a picture of his 6 month old kid.
OK, gotta get a grip here, it's over now. He does love to come to Canada, and we need to get him here again!
More later.... hahaha, yes, there is more!
