it's obvious that one person's definition of looking sharp isn't necessarily the same as someone else's .. in all honesty i think things are going a little overboard with respect to the dresscode.. obviously they're not expecting ppl to come dressed in a tux.

as far as i know, This is London has always had (some) type of style code whether it be semi-formal or not. and as far as the age "restriction" goes, that too has been something around for some time even prior to the new management that's there today. In fact a lot of clubs/lounges especially ones along the King St. and Peter St. area cater to a much older clientel and 25+ is not uncommon at all. (a friend of mine is actually inviting me to Schmooze 25+ this coming Saturday .. gaah). But what Jeff aka. Floorwhore said was right, many of them are 21+ on Fridays. Again just like BOA this is all relative. "Soft rules" to plainly put it.

But anyhow, i'm just giving a perspective on things since there's a lot of people that find this all very shocking. I mean the same could be said about BOA when it first openned but now things all seem fine.

In the end it'll most likely be the discretion of the doorman whether it be better or worse. Hey you never know, if it's Quin and the old System guys there then everything'll be A-OK

Just because the age restriction thing has been going on for a while now, doesn't mean it's acceptable. What is the point of an age restriction? I see people of all ages doing stupid shit at clubs. Do you really think making a club 21+ is going to make any difference on the crowd at all?

How many 19-20 year olds do you know that go to these kind of events? 19-20 year olds are going to Tonic on a Friday night. If an 19-20 year old is going to a party like this, it probably means s/he really wants to go. Having an age restriction or a dress code does not make the crowd more "mature". Besides, WTF is a "mature" crowd when it comes to afterhours anyway? What's the difference between a "mature" crowd and a regular crowd?

If you want a "mature" crowd, go to work, not an afterhours club. Getting bojangled and listening to 8hrs of Deep Dish isn't exactly what I'd call "mature".
