I won't even have to dissect this all.. ignorance is bliss. I've been clubbing since the late 90s.. mainly 97-99. Limelight, Tunnel and Carbon which later became Exit. |
oooohhh wow...Carbon? so cool...is that to make me think you are old school? HA!...i can play that game also...i was at Mirage in my early 20s which later became Carbon which later became Exit...YIPPY i win.

Its been like this for years, if you haven't learned to just accept it, you have issues. |
Wasnt like this at Twilo, Limelight, Tunnel, Original Factory before Twilo, Palladium, Life, Nells, original Shelter or Phuture.
This overcrowded guido iron pumping closet homosexual golds gym membership tight little sisters black tshirt scene slowly began to get big with the dawn of Exit.
Yes there was guidos in clubs back in the day...but not like it is now...nowhere near how it is now.
I can still see that tranny girl working the door at Limelight telling these same type of kids that it is "simply not gunna happen fellas try Hoboken"...LOL

I'm just sick and tired of the "elitist" ways of some of the TAs. Its rather lame. You people claim that everyone else has to fit into these "guido" ways, do you notice that all of you try and fit in together to create your own TAness? Think about it.. |
I thought about it...and i disagree, I only met TAs this past year at clubs. So i never tried to be like them. I am me...i have dressed the same way at clubs since going to NASA (summer 92) and have never conformed to any click, trend or niche that guidos seem oh so hard to keep up with...i guess i am an individual.
I really dont see any TAs (that i have met) to fall into any niche either...they all seem to be themselves and not trend hoppers. Which i think is a good thing.
Now u say whats wrong with following trends probally... well nothing when it is done in moderation...the difference between the average guy and these guidos is the extreme that one goes to to acheive ultimate trendiness. When one is so self-involved with their looks (LIKE GUIDOS) one tends to question (1) their sanity and (2) their individuality, which not a good thing.

The elitist mentality in hear is rather childish. Why is it some people just can't go to a club to enjoy the music and not know who the Producer or DJ is. |
I think that is where there is a major problem. Not only was the crowd better back in the day in clubs but so was the music. I feel that this whole super DJ shit has been negative for NYC...i can still say my best night clubbing was to Keoki and not some lame ass super DJ of today.
Back then people did go for the music...DJs werent as famous back then (early 90s). People knew them but werent fanatical like today. And when you went there wasnt 4000 kids rushing the DJ booth with a dollar, flyer or bra to have their favorite DJ to sign not only causing a hazardous fire trap but also looking like bah bah bah sheep. As long as the tunes kept your feet moving the DJ was on point.
Now you have kiddies critiqueing every mix, transistion or what have you and bitching cus their favorite tune was played or Armin didnt take their "Communication" vinyl and play it so he is a punk sell out DJ now who has no respect for his fans. No one stormed stages before ...today it is so out of control that it makes clubbing shitty compared to yesterday.
If you find a dance floor with everyones heads facing the DJ booth, arms waving in your face at the DJ so he notices them and then they SWEAR the DJ is their boy exciting then so be it...but i like a dance floor to dance.
Maybe clubs need to make a warning track or something for these kids who should be caged to begin with...like a running track (preferably gated) between the the stage and the dance floor so these happy go lucky kiddies can wail their arms and do their guido pumps all night long and not bother people who actually came for the beats and not the brand name DJs.

Oh and last but not least... you have the option to not go and be swamped by guidos.. so don't go.. stop complaining and don't go. Done deal.. this is almost as bad as defending Howard Stern. You have the power to decide if you want to deal with it or not. |
Yes i ahve that option...but why should i stop doing things that i was doing when these little guidos were still listening to puff the magik dragon and showing each other their wee wees in nursery school?
Or maybe they should make clubs 25 plus.

Bring back 1994 NYC clubbing nights, cus the sh*t today is filled with junk parties and DJs that play sh*t House.....Zabiela, Sander, or Howells and all the rest suck and couldnt throw a night like it was in the early 90s in NYC!!!...Screw Twilo - give me Limelight circa 1993!!!

That couch IS super comfy! Except, I stood on the damn thing, and still kept dancing. Heeeeeeeey, that's a great idea! Okay, we need to petition to have a club install a rubber floor, so we can all bounce around like we're in space! wheeeeeeeeee
