I’m curious to know why we all blame the bouncers, yes, they are partly the problem, but they are merely the face that the patrons see. I’m sure the club manager tells them on a regular basis – “don’t let too many guys in, and if she’s hot, let her in” – that makes (sadly) good business sense, as it will build the kind of reputation they want for this place.
One thing I think we all need to realise is that this place is owned by Charles Khabouth (sp?) (i think) – the same guy who owns the guv. He doesn’t want another guvernment, if he did he’d buy another warehouse and put some lasers and a sound system in it. The people that really love the guvernemnt (a lot of us), aren’t exactly the clients TIL is looking for, it just happens we like the music at TIL too.
He’s had many forays into the whole “fancy club” thing before, the “supper club” or whatever, and the kind of things everyone is complaining about just goes with “fancy club” territory, and I don’t think its going to change.
I’ve been to TIL, had a good time, it was on the opening day, showed up late, waited for about half an hour, got in no problem (I'm 22 and went with my gf - we were dressed up). The smoke bothered me though, so If I don’t go back, it will be because of that.
Anyway what it seems you all want is a place where you can go and listen to music and dance - IMO thats not what TIL wants, they want an exclusive fancy club where people spend LOTS of money. That dogma, and the one that we like (for the most part - guv, viva, boa, other dance clubs) dont fit.
