I thought it was a really good day in the end. Crowd was a bit iffy, as was the music in places, but if you were at the right stages at the right times I can't see how you wouldn't have enjoyed it. Spent most of the time at the Mischief stage and fucking loved it for the most part.
- The Egg: Never heard of them before apart from that track they did with Dave Guetta, but they were pretty good actually. Good fun and nice to see an electronic act with live instruments too.
- Rex the Dog: Wicked as always.
- Infusion: Can't really go wrong with them, but this set didn't really inspire me too much. This is where my memory started to get a bit fuzzy for a bit, though.
- Carl Cox: Couldn't be bothered fighting the crowds for a spot on the dancefloor, but watched him while lying down on the grass on the hill with a few other munted members of my crew. Sound wasn't great from where we were, but it was good enough to know that we were missing a wicked set. Also watching that many people go off to tech was - like someone said earlier - pretty amazing to see, especially from our perspective. Must have been 10,000 in there easily.
- Oliver Huntemann: Set of the night. Tough, rolling, minimal stuff, quite like Beyer or Schumacher at their best in places. Haven't heard much from him before, so glad I decided to check him out.
- Nick Warren: Was only there for half an hour or so, but he seemed in pretty good form. Would have stayed and enjoyed it if it weren't for the clash with Wink.
- Josh Wink: Fucking wicked. Lots of minimal and acidy techy stuff and Higher State of Consciousness was the perfect track to finish off the day.
Impressed at how well my memory held up in the end actually, because it was a looooong day. Disappointed I couldn't catch up with more TAs but the coverage was fucked and only about one out of every ten messages I sent got through. Oh well, next time.
