Elitism is a positive thing.

However, the down side to being better than everyone else is that people tend to assume you are pretentious, which is not true at all for most elitists.

what i am trying to say is that their are a lot of arrogant people who try to prove themselves by stating all this knowledge about music and this and that and tend to miss the point and just enjoy the music cuz they are too busy dismissing everything b/c of subtle differences.

lol. thank you. this kind of arrogance isn't just TA specific though. I'm convinced a good 75% of the human population do not deserve to continue their existence.

Well, that'd certainly fix our population problems.

Ok I will explain the joke.

NOTA BENE: EXPLAINING A JOKE WILL KILL THE JOKE

for this one, i will kill it

This joke is in the the humor genre called irony

it uses irony because it means the opposite it says, and also sarcasm because its kind of true.

The joker makes the statement above: The downside to being everyone else is that people tend to assume you are prententious.

The irony here is that saying such a statement IS in fact, pretentious.
However, on a second level, if one really was better than everyone else, then the statement would be true, because people would think of that one individual to be fairly pretentious

This could also be called a second degree joke

[PS: for everyone who got the joke, sorry, had to kill it]

oh, and also, LOLZ @ YOU !!11!!SHIFT+1
