I don't have a single set by him. However, I wouldn't be too worried about him going downhill. Although I'm sure he does play some minimal and techno, I continue to hear great things about him. In May, there was a 4-day electronic music festival in the city I was living in in France, with several events happening all day and night for each of the 4 days. One of the events was an 8-hr Laurent Garnier v. Agoria back to back set, and everyone said that was easily the best event of the entire festival. I missed it due to opting to see Underworld, Jeff Mills, Scan X and Mlle Caro which was an amazing party (thanks to the Rex Club room (Jeff Mills, Scan X and Mlle Caro), not Underworld. They sucked!), but I still regret missing out on that Laurent Garnier set.
Also, the fact that he has his own room at what is IMO the most important techno festival in the world (Timewarp), where he plays all night long every single year, is testimony to his greatness.
I have not personally seen him, nor have I heard a single set online from him, but he's at the top of my to-see list.
IMO with a DJ like that, there's no point in downloading a set and judging him from your computer chair. The only way to fully understand is by catching one of his marathon sets from start to finish. That's why I have no sets of him on my computer because I'm quite frankly not interested in hearing them lol. |
lol
If you are ever interested, check out his profile on discogs. Just looking at it makes you realize that you are looking at greatness.

This is more minimal rather than anything else. But as Graham said, you must see him live to really experience the acutal LG.
