OK, shit taste AND poor judgement. It's a vicious circle, really. Those of us who know better will tell you why you're wrong and you will keep saying stupid things like the ones I quoted above. Lather, rinse, repeat.
On what is it exactly that you base this statement?
Do you really think that this...
Is better than this?
Notice how I'm not even being "underground" or obscure. These are tracks produced by the same producers you mentioned a decade ago or so.
The 3 tracks you posted are okay - not bad, but not fantastic, either. I know them, but never really play them. The tracks I mentioned I personally like out of the slew of Vocal Trance tracks produced over the past couple of years. I listen to lots of non-vocal tracks, as well and can give you examples of those I find great.
It's really sort of baffling, though, about this forum how a lot of people can't move on from what Trance sound used to be like 15-20 years ago, as well as the equation of vocal = cheese. Incidentally, do you consider "Silence" - which fucking launched Tiesto's career and up to today is a Trance classic and makes the crowd go nuts - cheesy, shitty, bad taste, whatever, too? You people really need to get out more and smoke a little less weed.

Not embarrassed at all - just don't think it's relevant to this discussion or is any of your business.

It is relevant, because very few people have good taste in music when they're young. You're not out of your teens yet.

Vocals are often cheesy because they're used as a crutch to compensate for poor music. If the crowd has something to sing along to they won't mind if the melody is weak.
Please post an example of a non-vocal track you like, I'm in the mood to laugh today.
p.s. your post is ironic. 'We' need to get out more, despite the fact that you know nothing of trance except for what Van Buuren et al. shove down your throat.

You aren't the only one at all. Although I'd recommend the PvD Club Mix or - more recently released - Cosmic Gate Remix. Check 'em out.

What I'll be doing in 5 or 10 years is neither relevant nor any of your business either, but you still brought it up.
I'll tell you what I'll be doing tomorrow night though - going to a club and hearing some proper trance. I take it you'll be sat in your bedroom listening to Armin tracks on Youtube while you curse your inability to grow the convincing facial hair that would allow you to attend one of his over-priced arena gigs.
Don't try ad hominem until your balls have dropped, son.

And you probably need to smoke a little more.
It's hilarious that you're too ignorant and closed-minded to even put any value on where your favorite saccharine-drenched genre even came from. There is tons of music out there that is timeless, it doesn't become irrelevant. These tracks we're so graciously trying to show to you, to give you some perspective, were what launched TRANCE in the FIRST place. The tracks you seem to be a fan of are just garbage, plain and simple. Muppets and tossers may go nuts to them in a club, but just because some retard who's off his tits on disco biscuits nearly has an orgasm during a Van Buuren breakdown does not mean the track is any good.
It's quite obvious you're hopeless, and at this point it's just going to be entertaining to watch you thrash about helplessly.
Here, school yourself a bit more. You can thank me later.

I'm in my mid-20's, grandpa, but whatever. Laugh is a healthy thing though, and at your age I'm sure you need it, therefore, I'll post 3 recently produced (all within the last several months) non-vocal TRANCE tracks and then you can tell me they're all shit, m'kay?

1. I'm not your son.
2. Saturday night I will be going to a club, as well, but I guess I'll be listening to IMproper Trance, along with hundreds of fellow clubbers, friends and DJs.
3. As for Armin gigs, I've attended 4, so far. Including the very last "ARMIN ONLY: Imagine" show last New Year's here in L.A., which was THE most amazing musical experience of my life. And I'll be going to see him again next week for Halloween. So, no need to worry, grandpa.

I may not necessarily be as well-educated on the history of Trance (going all the way back to the 1800's), as some of you on here, but thank gawd I am young enough to realize that Trance music is STILL happening and is doing just fine, partly - BECAUSE it has moved on, since 1992. And in big picture it really doesn't matter, whether most of you can deal with that.

Yeah, MUCH better. It would have been forgiven if you actually were a teenager. My original statement stands: you have shit taste, and very poor judgment. At least before, you had an excuse.

Which is funny, because going by the samples you posted, trance hasn't moved on since 2001. Same ol' intro-breakdown-build structure, same ol' sounds (actually, sounding a bit cheaper in the Jochen Miller cut)...
They aren't bad songs -the first two are actually quite good compared to what the superstar DJs churn out on the regular- but clearly going through the epic-trance motions. The last one's about as generic as this stuff gets.
That is why you'll find a lot of former fans of this kind of stuff here at TA. They've grown tired of hearing the same kind of song over and over and over and over and over and over for the past 5-10 years. They're anxious to hear something fresh, and hence start exploring other genres.
Trust me, that will happen to you too.
Edit: Or you'll leave the scene altogether once the novelty runs out.
