In that case, then download the Google Sync app and sync your contacts and calendar with your Gmail account. Then just check your gmail to ensure all your contacts are there, activate new phone, add your Google account to the phone, voila. /end

Undies with a dickhole aren't good for guys. Your balls can get caught in them. That's why I prefer to go over the gate instead of through the fence.

Naiiice. My phone's on the way. It only cost $150 with a two-year renewal and I think I'm getting a $50 credit on top of that.
Out of curiosity, does anyone know the method of porting over your plan/contacts on Verizon without having to go to a store to do so? I thought I remember hearing someone mention that there's a number you can call and deal with an automated system that will port everything over for you sans the Verizon store but I've only heard that from some arbitrary doucher and the clerk at the Verizon reseller said I'd have to head back up to a corporate branch once the phone's been shipped and have them do it.
IS THIS TRUTHISH?
afaik, Verizon doesn't migrate the contacts over, unless you bring the phones to the store, in which case they just take the phones in the back and do what Ben suggested.
As for keeping your plan...did you buy the new phone from Verizon, or a retail store?

Me too.. it really has improved my life by x100000000. I repeat what I've always said. Fuck iPhone.
The day after I got it. I already put the screen protector, a $30 case, and the insurance on it

Just got my first cell-phone, in the mail, today!
This is awesome, too. I don't even have to dial the number, myself. I can get someone to dial it for me.

I ordered it online. It gave me a projected bill amount that wasn't all that more than I'm already paying (although it said that I was paying much more than I actually am right now for some strange reason).
I'll probably wind up taking it to the store just to be safe. I just was wondering if there was an easy option that was guaranteed that didn't involve going to the store.

There will only be 1 possible hang up. The activation. Other than that, the method I suggested can be done now before you even get the phone. You can then verify it before hand, so you don't get caught up in all the shit.

Nope--no other easy way.
*229 just re-sends the activation info to your phone (1st time you use it, or any time after you update the ROM). It only sends EISN or whatever the hell their version of a hardware ID is.
The plan should be simple enough. If you get it from them, they've already switched your info over.
