How can you say progressive is a sub genre of trance? It sounds totally different to trance. I think progressive is lumped together with trance because people are afraid of stepping out into a new genre. Just because tiesto has start spinning more progressive stuff, doesnt turn progressive into trance.

but then if Prog is not a subgenre of trance then neither can Goa/Psy, Acid, Hard, Tech or any of the other subgenres....

For the past 7 years that i have been listening to trance, progressive was always a form of TRANCE......

there's progressive trance and progressive house, both are entirely different genres and have entirely different roots and beginnings.

Prog Trance takes its roots from Trance & Psy Trance, the majority of today's trance is progressive since its using different sounds etc to that of the mid-nineties. Progressive house takes its roots from epic and acid house. Producers such as James Holden & Sasha produce progressive house.
