What makes techno or progressive or whatever you are into now any harder to write than Trance?

in simple terms - "percussion and a beat" = hard techno - not a rocking science is it, and tribal is just depressing!...but as I said let's stick to what we like and not bash it.

Technically it's not harder to write (write... it's mostly percussion anyway), but don't you think that repetitive music such as techno is much more innovative than trance nowadays?

In simple terms - "a consistent monotonous fast tempo of percussions and a beat- no paticular melody, a pure pile of sounds" = hard/dark techno - not a rocking science is it,
Tribal is just too chilled and depressing!... I listen to teckno, I listen to progressive, I listen to house, but trance has always been and will be my favourite genre, because it reflects my attitude and personality, but as I said let's stick to what we like and not bash it, that would be clever and now would it not be.

Give me some good, recent trance tracks. I'll give it a chance.

You seem to have a genre problem.
You see trance sounds the way it sounds, and we all know 'the sound', wether it's 99 Oakenfold mixes or Tiesto Magik series from back then, or 2004 ASOT sound, it all falls under same category, it's still trance. The fact it has maybe changed or gotten new levels doesn't change anything, you either like it or not. By your theory all music is the same, for example all jazz sound same to me, all polka sound same to me, rock, pop and so on... This forum is about trance, ok?, trance! and that's what some of us that like it are here to discuss. What you're doing out of each and every thread is stirring animosity not towards the genre but towards yourself. I'm pretty sure by reading your posts that you don't care about it, but why should we indulge your habit?
You like trance? Stay discuss it. You don't like it? Go fuck off somewhere and let us the ones that do like it talk about it.
Yes you could be critical, but you're plain and simple joker and people can read you.
There's another aspect to trance than just music, it's the parties.
You could have one without the other, but only combined does it show it's true force on you. You see you could not like or like some tune hearing it at home, but on a night out it might show itself in totally different light, and that's what I love about this music, it makes me go out, not much thought because here where I live I need to travel across europe to see artists I like and to hear music that fills my soul, although things are improving, but still it's dedication and passion that keeps you going.
I can enjoy my trance mixed with old & new sound and it doesn't disappoint. It's when I dip into music I forget about day at work, things I need to do, and usually I talk to others that feel the same, and it's good feeling that although we're a small community, we're globally connected. Trance is a good music, for positive people, and reflects many good emotions, it can be cultural yet downright sleazy, you can laugh and you can cry, you sweat out while dancing at the party and you feel great, and you don't need drugs to appreciate it because it can take you away in a dream world.
I'm pretty sure I lost touch with what I wanted to say in the first place, but who cares, that's what trance does to you, takes you away and keeps you there.
When you bounce back in the real world you have to deal with smart asses on TA, who in my opinion have lost touch with trance a long time ago...
