My overall review

Crowd 8/10
Overcrowd 8/10 for *****Guv only*****
Music 7/10 .........but for me once Ferry took control......9.5/10
Vibe from the people 8/10 (lot of love there...or maybe it ws just TA)

Mark Oliver - As usual did a fantastic job. Such a nice guy and I hope everyone managed to wish him a happy birthday.

Richie Hawtin did a great job....my ass started a good workout
Timo Maas was great...starting off slow and then workin it real good
Lee Burridge was great too but I had to go through some small drama that ruined it for me a little.

For those who wanna know........Drama details:
I was walking by when I almost tripped on the floor cuz some fool took his shirt off and tossed it on the floor. So I almost fall and just barely manage to regain my footing but I was too close to some guy and just slightly brushed him. Yes only brushed him....not physically held on or touched him. So he turns around and gives me a dirty look and says something under his breath. So I say "I'm sorry someone tossed something on the floor and I almost tripped...it wasn't personal".
Anyways as I'm about to walk away the guy punches me on the side of my stomach and then says something under his breath again.
I was more shocked that he did that and didn't pay attention to what he said.
So I turn around and say what's your problem. You know your a real asshole.
The sad part of this was that not one TA was nearby. I felt really invaded and at the same time desperately wanted to deck him.
So I did something I never do...I went to get security and told them what happened.

Newayz...security brought him out...and he denied at first then he apologized to me. He almost had security fooled with the straight look and the lie until his girlfriend came and started cuzzing at me and then saying I was just walking and all of a sudden out of the blue I started yelling at him and saying that he was an asshole. OMG...the lights were not on in that girls brain. Seriously who would do such a thing just outta the blue.
So security bounced him out. Thank god that there are still some good security guys there.

Carl Cox was amazing...I really love the direction he's taking his music now. I knew he wouldn't disappoint

But No matter what...I had to leave everything Cuz Ferry Was UP!!

Everything Ferry laid down had me wanting more and more.
Seriously...imho he should be the numero uno dj.
But then you'd have to love Trance music with all your heart to feel the same way I do. And yes i know some of you now wish to share your love with techno, house, progressive and the likes of others. So do I, but Trance is still my first choice

I brought my expired passport and by sheer luck it was also the passport with the stamp on it that said I was in Europe and Amsterdam...hehehe
I'll never lose this passport...seriously I'm going to have it framed and encased in gold if I can afford it

And the bonus....while you guys were dancing away...Ferry did me one fantastic favour
He left the music going for a few and asked me to come on stage and a friend took a pic...Oh and I begged/dragged TrickdadEE to go up with me too.

Solid, solid set by Cox. Not quite as good as Decadence, but definitely the best set of the night.

By playing 2 memorable sets in Toronto in 2005 after a bit of a layoff, I think Carl opened alot of people's eyes who are now new fans, and at the same time reminded his old fans why he is one of the pioneers of techno, if not EDM and the scene it encompasses as a whole.

I took a quick run over to the KH at 5:30 to compare the vibes in both rooms and it was a stark contrast in favor of Guv./Cox. I love dancing shoulder to shoulder with other fans of Carl. He creates a one of a kind vibe that unquestionably engulfs the whole crowd.

In the words of the man...."give it up for me, Carl Cox!"

Carl's set was good - not great - until about 6. Then 6am came, the place cleared out a bit, and carl pulled out the goodies - the acid house, the tech house, the deep deep basslines. At one point I looked around and everyone seemed to be touching their chest - because the bass was SOOOO dirty and deep that you could feel your insides vibrate. That was about 8am. It wasn't until about 6 or so that I found myself having a proper good time - the crowd wasn't so crushing, it wasn't so hot, the music was better, the people left were friendlier (although sketchier as well).

I wish I could have stayed to say that I closed guvernment at 930am for the first time in my life, but I knew it was time to go. I sooo didn't want to though.

Even when I wasn't really feeling everything he was playing, Carl really stood out as just a PROPER DJ....he was tweaking the EQ's without even looking at them, yelling at the crowd in the mike "DO YOU WANT TO GO HOME YET?????????????" Just awesome.

Nice seeing those of you who I saw in KH, and lovely to spend time with Sir highroller after the club. Hope you had a good study day.

I was only there for like an hour and a half of his set and I still was able to ID the following:

Hiroki Esashika - Kazane (Sebastien Leger's Psyche remix)
Alloy Mental - Alloy Mental (Si Begg or Chris Liebing mix, I forget which)
Cohen vs. Deluxe - Just Kick
Scissor Sisters - Comfortably Numb (Paper Faces mix)

So it isn't out of the realm of sensible requests to compile a list of what was played, not an entire one but still as much as possible.

Trying to ID every track is lame. Just enjoy it for the moment that it is.

It's lame to want to get a hold of a few good tracks you hear when you go out to a club?

Oh wait this is the same person who was chastizing me for enjoying a night more based on the fact that the DJ pumps up the crowd and looks like he's enjoying himself, nevermind.

no... its not... but i cant stand people who go to clubs expecting only to hear songs they know and then critisizing a dj when they play mostly new upfront tunes. And that happens a lot around here.

Thats the kind of track IDing im referring to.

I'm just saying that if you don't get a lot of track IDs, that's a good thing! IMO it makes the night more memorable for what it was at the time. Timo played all of one song I recognized and I enjoyed his set just as much as what I heard of Carl's, who's set I recognized a number of tunes from.

I just dislike 90% of the techno I hear, Carl happens to spin a lot of songs I enjoy so I want to track them down.

What's the point of going to see an artist in concert? I mean you can always just listen to the tracks at home or watch a concert DVD.

I don't expect every track to be ID'd, I just mention that I want to find out a few of the songs he spun and all of a sudden I'm being badgered about it for no apparant reason.
