hellllll yeah!!!
Icey's set destroyed me (no really...I can barely walk right right now). Found RobbyG early on and agian in the Orange Room for Icey...good to see you again, it's been a while (Dr. Trance boat cruise, lol!)...and another TA (Jay I think? forget his TA name). Also met Orko in KH and a couple of others who I'm forgetting.
Mark Oliver opened with what was probably the best set I've heard from him in ages...lots of vocals, quickly warmed up the crowd and set a nice vibe. I'll never get tired of hearing Stevie Nicks' voice on a big sound system (though the sound in KH wasn't stellar)
Josh was very good too...though part way through a few of us went off to check out Sander...great tunes, but Guv is a f'n nightmare for big events...too packed, too hot, too much traffic, the usual...and besides, hopefully I'll hear him @ Stereo next weekend so it was off to Icey in the Orange Room by myself.
I didn't see anyone I knew in the Orange Room until RobbyG showed up...planted myself to Icey's left, right by the booth, and danced my ass off for his entire set...awesome tunes and energy...I really like the Orange Room as a venue....seems to be the only room where you can pick a spot and not have constant traffic bothering you.
Caught the tail end of oakie...meh...though I'm pissed that I missed Southern Sun...Armin was SO much better than usual...less boring prog shit and more trance. There's good prog trance (Markus) but Armin's stuff isn't thrilling me these days...but he was quite good...I was just too tired to get too into it.
headed over to Guv for a bit of Howells later on (7-ish?) and it wayyyy too low key in there...I wish I'd heard more of him early on.
all in all...a very good night spent with very good friends.
to sum up:
breaks > trance or house
