Bachelor pad with your wife and daughter? Damn, you really are a baller lol

So I just got home from work and I'm kinda pissed. In case you don't know, I work at the Foot Locker in the Roosevelt Field Mall. It's one of the top five busiest stores in the company. The manager that was on decides he wants to leave an hour or so early. To me, that's unheard of. The guy is the general manager of the store and he wants to let two assistants (me and another guy) run it? The people that work there are so undisciplined, it's incredible. They stand around most of the time talking to other workers, bs in the stock room when there's customers that need to be helped and spend time at the register talking to the cashiers. Ugh, it's so frustrating.

oh man roosevelt field?!! that place must be a madhouse right now...my bf used to work at the Skechers there and he said customers would tear that place f*ckin apart every DAY. i cant imagine how it MUST be to be shortstaffed. although, so many ppl have left that place, they probably ARE shortstaffed right now haha.

but cmon, this is the mall...and its a SHOE store, did u EXPECT to find other ppl as disciplined as you? like seriously. but yeah i feel you...awww u have my sympathies.

Roosevelt mall? Hmm, sounds so familliar. Is that the one in Flushing? It sucks working jobs where you're burried under the avalanche of people's incompetence. Sounds like you may need to start job hunting for January.

Roosevelt Field Mall is the largest shopping mall in the state of New York. Located in East Garden City on Long Island, the anchors of the 270 store mall are: Bloomingdale's, JC Penney, Macy's and Nordstrom. Previous anchor stores were Gimbel's (succeeded by Stern's) and Alexander's (succeeded by Bloomingdales). The original anchor stores were Macy's and Gimbel's. The speciality stores cover a wide range of genre and include: Coach, Betsy Johnson, Free People, Abercrombie & Fitch, Wild Pair, Hot Topic and Sephora. Other stores include the Disney Store, Fye, and the Franklin Mint. In addition to the food court, located on the second floor, there are several high-scale / sit-down restaurants located on the premises, including: Houston's, Legal Seafood, The Grand Lux Caffe, Gasho Japan, The Panino Caffe and Ruth's Chris Steakhouse.

When it first opened in 1956, Roosevelt Field was the largest mall in the world. The mall was open-air when it was first constructed. There was an indoor ice rink in the mall in the area in front of Dick's until a renovation in the early 1970's, when JC Penney opened.

Today it is the 11th largest in the US based on leasable square footage (2,146,000)[1]. It is the third most profitable mall in terms of sales per square foot. The national average is $336 per square foot and Roosevelt Fields is estimated near $600.[2]

It was constructed on the site where Charles Lindbergh took off on his historic trans-Atlantic flight. At one time, there was a plaque at the north end of the mall (in the hall that now connects Dick's and JC Penney) that marked the spot where Lindbergh left the ground. Today the plaque is inside of the mall outside of the Disney Store.

The mall is named in honor of President Theodore Roosevelt's son, Quentin Roosevelt, who was killed in air combat during WWI.

An ambitious renovation of the mall was completed in the late 1990s. This included adding a second level on top of the existing mall structure. Although the mall uses the prestigious Garden City address, it lies just outside of the village limits in East Garden City, and thus is not required to pay taxes to the village. It is within the Town of Hempstead. The mall is located off of the Meadowbrook Parkway, making it easily accessible from the Long Island Expressway, Northern State Parkway, and Southern State Parkway. It is a major hub of MTA Long Island Bus, with several bus routes stopping in a terminal area next to the southern parking structure.

The architect of the mall is I.M. Pei. There is a sculpture inside the mall by artist Sol Lewitt.

Welp, my boss just advised me that it isn't "professional" to have music playing in my lab...
99% of the time, I'm in there alone (which sux btw), so who the F cares??? Apparently my boss... I even tried to explain to him that the music keeps me focused and allows me to work far longer than being in a silent room... no love... no love.
I will take solace in my laser

The Palisades Center:

The mall is located west of NY Route 303, south of exit 12 of the New York State Thruway (I-87 and I-287), and north of NY Route 59. It is the second-largest mall in the United States in terms of gross area at 3,500,000 square feet (325,000 mē), and with a Gross leasable area (GLA) of 2,000,000 square feet[1] is the third-largest in terms of leasable retail space (the Mall of America and the King of Prussia Mall are larger). It is named after the nearby Palisades, which border the Hudson River and the eastern part of Rockland County.
