(Nah.. I wont let this thread die....)

How about basslines like the one in Nic Chagall - What You Need (Hard Dub Reedit). That truly is some super duper hardcore asskicking motherfucking wicked bassline!! If you haven't heard that track, for the sake of heaven and earth... you better go get it right away!!

Question is... How do you create such an ingenious sick bassline?

Does anyone on this forum have a clue?

Say what? U cant just make a random melody to copy that bass........ Its not just playing around with the arp and adding some sidechain and ur done.......... Cant you hear that extremely phat sound he gets? What kinda waves? What would the bass pattern look like in a piano roll?

I don't think it's that great to be honest.
Aalto - 5 (Original Mix), now that's a cool bassline in my opinion.

Nic Chagall is actually Claus Terhoeven from Cosmic Gate going solo, and What You Need is definately a massive track... If you disagree, please go fornicate youreself with an iron stick or sumthin

I wish I were able to recreate that bass sound... Pleeeeease... Im on a dedicated trance forum... Any geeks have any ideas? How to go about it??

Bassline melody can be as simple or complex as your lead melody. It can be any size notes aswell, just as your lead melody. It can be an arp, a gate, etc etc....

Just to be sure, you ppl DO know kick, clap, hat, and snare arn't the ONLY percs in existance?
