Re: Re: Long distance relationships
Well, I think this is the last bump. At least on my part.
Not because she's coming back (still more 6 months to go) or because we broke up, but because this week is the second anniversary of our long-distance relationship, and commitment wise, I think this is some proof that, yeah, really long distance relationships can work. It's come to a point that, even if we break up in the following months, I wouldn't mind living this experience again - so, if you're about to embark in a similar relationship, I can honestly say "do it!". Here's why:- Independence: I reckon we can both affirm that we're together not because we "need" to be with someone else and would feel empty without the physical presence of a companion by our side, but rather because we "want" to be with one another because we're what we're looking for and we're find with ourselves if we need to be on our own for a while. Should either of us decide to move on, this lesson is enough to make the whole enterprise worth it;
- High self-esteem: Probably related to the previous topic. I've been hitting the gym every day, had a dream job until a few weeks ago, and I've been getting lot of female attention. All things considered, this has been a tremendous ego boost, and my self-esteem soared to an all-time high. As for the female attention...

Sorry, Mario, but I've been laying my hands on books rather than boobs. Whenever I go out with a girl (and I have to admit recently I've been too reckless and moved girls to the friends zone in contexts where they probably thought they'd get some), all I think is "Great, I'd rather be with her than with a bloke right now... but I'd still rather be with ma petite";
- Trust: Yet another development in our relationship. We've been telling each other everything, both when we're feeling strong and when we falter. Isn't communication the backbone of all relationships?
That's it, this is my last update on this issue. Anything pertaining to long distance relationships has already been covered by now, and whatever happens from now on won't be any different than what we could see in any other relationship - including the ones where you're in the same place
